Plan of the City of Corpus Christi, by providing for realignment and the extension of
Martin Street to parallel State Highway 286 and connect with a future east west
collector; providing for the designation of Dorado Street as a C-1 Collector, and
designation of Hacala Street as a C-1 Collector, between Dorado and Frio Streets;
amending related elements of the Comprehensive Plan of the City; providing for
severance; providing for publication.
Whereas, the Planning Commission has forwarded to the City Council its recommendation
concerning the amendments to the Corpus Christi Urban Transportation Pian, an element of the
Comprehensive Plan of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas;
Whereas, Planning Commission public meeting was held on Wednesday March 28, 2012
regarding amendments to the Transportation Plan, during which all interested persons were
allowed to appear and be heard;
Whereas, the City Council has determined that these amendments best serve public health,
necessity, and convenience, and the general welfare of the City of Corpus Christi, and its citizens;
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
Section 1. That the Corpus Christi Urban Transportation Plan (a part of the Comprehensive Plan
of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas), is amended by providing for realignment and the extension
of Martin Street to parallel State Highway 286 and connect with a future east west collector;
providing for the designation of Dorado Street as a C-1 collector; and providing for designation of
Hacala Street as a C-1 collector, between Dorado and Frio Streets, all as shown on Exhibit A,
which is attached to and incorporated into this Ordinance.
Section 2. That to the extent that the amendments made by this Ordinance represent a
deviation from the Comprehensive Plan, the Comprehensive Plan including the Urban
Transportation Plan, is amended to conform to the amendments made by this Ordinance.
Section 3. That the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, as amended from
time to time, except as changed by this Ordinance and any other ordinances adopted on this
date, remains in full force and effect.
Section 4. That any ordinance or part of any ordinance in conflict with this ordinance is expressly
repealed by this Ordinance.
Section 5. The City Council intends that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this Ordinance shall be given full force and effect for its purpose. If any
section, paragraph, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance is held invalid or
unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, that judgment shall not
affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this
ordinance.
Section 6. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus Christi as
required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
