19. The receipt of the motion for rehearing filed with the City by CP &L on
its request for a rate increase be acknowledged and the motion for the
rehearing be denied. The City Charter requires filing of such a
motion prior to appealing the rates approved by the City Council. The
Charter further states a public utility cannot process its appeal
until the Council has acted upon a motion for rehearing or has had a
period fo 60 days within which to act upon it.
