APPOINTING YOUNG MIN BURKETT, RAY A. GONZALEZ, INNA
ROGOFF-KLEIN, GAIL LOEB, PATRICK O'HARE, AND MIKE
JAMES ALANIZ AS MUNICIPAL JUDGES OF THE MUNICIPAL
COURT OF RECORD IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS;
APPOINTING GAIL LOEB AS THE PRESIDING JUDGE;
APPOINTING JERRY L. BATEK, JACQUELINE DEL LLANO
CHAPA, CHRISTOPHER E. MATT, TODD A. ROBINSON AND
DAVID WALSH AS PART-TIME JUDGES OF THE MUNICIPAL
COURT OF RECORD IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI;
DETERMINING SALARY; PROVIDING A TERM OF OFFICE;
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 24, 2015; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That Young Min Burkett, Ray A. Gonzalez, Irina Rogoff-Klein, Gail
Loeb, Patrick O'Hare, and Mike James Alaniz are appointed as Municipal Judges
of the Municipal Court of Record in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That Gail Loeb is appointed as Presiding Judge of the Municipal
Court of Record in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 3. That each person appointed to the full-time municipal judge
position shall receive the fixed salary corresponding to Grade 311, Step 7 of the
City of Corpus Christi's Employee Compensation and Classification System, with
the exception of the person appointed as Presiding Judge, who shall receive the
fixed salary corresponding to Grade 313, Step 9 of the City of Corpus Christi's
Employee Compensation and Classification System.
SECTION 4. That Jerry L. Batek, Jacqueline Del Llano Chapa, Christopher E.
Matt, Todd A. Robinson and David Walsh are appointed as Part-Time Judges of
the Municipal Court of Record in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 5. That each person appointed to the part-time municipal judge
position shall receive a fixed hourly salary for time worked, corresponding to
Grade 311, Step 7 of the City of Corpus Christi's Employee Compensation and
Classification System.
SECTION 6. That each judge shall hold office for a term coterminous with the
term of the appointing City Council unless sooner removed or until the successor,
if any, is appointed.
SECTION 7. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members,
copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the
need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration
of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of the
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed

and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on the 24th day of
March 2015.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an
emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration
and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request
that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it
is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
