Amending Ordinance No. 030438 to modify salaries of the Presiding Judge,
full-time and part-time municipal judges; declaring an effective date of April
4, 2016; and declaring an emergency.
Whereas, the anniversary employment date is March 24th for the Presiding Judge, full-
time and part-time municipal judges and April 4, 2016 is the first day of the pay period
following the pay period in which the anniversary date occurs.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 030438, Section 3, is amended as follows:
That each person appointed to the full-time municipal judge position shall receive
the fixed salary corresponding to Grade 311 335, Step of the City of Corpus
Christi's Employee Compensation and Classification System, with the exception
of the person appointed as Presiding Judge, who shall receive the fixed salary
corresponding to Grade 3-1-3 334, Step 8 2 of the City of Corpus Christi's
Employee Compensation and Classification System.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 030438, Section 5, is amended as follows:
That each person appointed to the part-time municipal judge position shall
receive a fixed hourly salary for time worked, corresponding to Grade 3-14 140,
Step of the City of Corpus Christi's Employee Compensation and
Classification System.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of the voting upon ordinances
at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed upon first reading as an
emergency measure and takes effect on the 4th day of April 2016.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an
emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
