HomeMy WebLinkAbout031406 ORD - 03/27/2018 Ordinance amending City Code Sections 36-3 and 36-7 regarding annual review of parks and recreation fee adjustments and declaring an emergency Whereas, on March 20, 2018, the Corpus Christi City Council approved motion that all fees for Parks and Recreation department be presented to City Council annually for review; Now,therefore, be it ordained by the City Council for the City of Corpus Christi,Texas: Section 1. Sections 36-3 and 36-7 of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances regarding park and recreation fees are revised to read as follows: "Sec. 36-3. - Rental rates. The parks and recreation director shall prepare a schedule of rental rates for the use of facilities to include, but not be limited to, pavilions, shelters, picnic tables, swimming pools, recreation centers, athletic fields, Multicultural Center and the Cole Park Amphitheater. This schedule shall be submitted to the City Council annually for review and approval " (Ord. No. 20377, § 1, 7-12-1988; Ord. No. 22305, § 1, 7-25-1995) "Sec. 36-7. - Recreation fees and charges. The parks and recreation director shall prepare a list of recreation fees and charges for the public use of tennis courts, swimming pools, recreation centers, athletic fields and other city-owned facilities. This schedule of fees and charges shall be submitted annually to the City Council for review and approval. " (Ord. No. 20377, § 1, 7-12-1988; Ord. No. 22305, § 2, 7-25-1995; Ord. No. 028800, § 1, 10- 12-2010) Section 2. Publication shall be as required by City Charter and State law. This ordinance takes effect as of March 20, 2018. Section 3. Upon written request of the Mayor or five City Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this o/di�ance is`"f l�npa�ssed a� Iqd takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this da of 'CL2018.
