BACKGROUND:
Beginning in 1990, the State of Texas issued a series of Agreed Orders between the Texas
Environmental Quality Commission (TCEQ), environmental interests and water users. These Agreed
Orders, as they have been amended from time to time, set out operating requirements for Lake Corpus
Christi, specific pass thru schedules from the Lake Corpus Christi/Choke Canyon reservoir system for
the bay, and created the Nueces Estuary Advisory Council (NEAC).
