5. Approving purchase of a replacement respiratory air
purification and fixed storage system with fill station for
the Fire Department based on low bid from Vallen
Corporation, Corpus Christi, Texas in the amount of
$21,108.42. Eight bid invitations were issued and three
bids were received. This purchase will complete the
updating of the Fire Department's emergency air system. The
equipment is used to purify, store and fill emergency air
breathing bottles used in hazardous atmospheres and is
included in the 1982 -83 Budget.
