Special City Council Meeting
Public Notice--THE USE OF CELLULAR PHONES AND SOUND ACTIVATED
PAGERS ARE PROHIBITED IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS DURING
MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
A. Mayor Joe McComb to call the meeting to order.
Mayor McComb called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.
B. City Secretary Rebecca L. Huerta to call the roll of the required Charter Officers.
City Secretary Rebecca L.Huerta called the roll and verified that a quorum of
the City Council was present to conduct the meeting.
(Council Member Hunter arrived at 8:33 a.m.)
Charter Officers:
Interim City Manager Keith Selman,City Attorney Miles K.Risley,and City
Secretary Rebecca L.Huerta.
Present: 8- Mayor Joe McComb,Council Member Roland Barrera,Council Member
Paulette Guajardo,Council Member Gil Hernandez,Council Member Michael
Hunter,Council Member Ben Molina,Council Member Everett Roy,and
Council Member Greg Smith
Absent: 1 - Council Member Rudy Garza
C. EXECUTIVE SESSIONS:
Mayor McComb referred to the days executive sessions.The Council went into
executive session at 8:33 a.m.The Council returned from executive session on
Item 1 at 8:47 a.m.
1. Executive session pursuant to Texas Government Code§551.074
(Personnel Matters)to deliberate the appointment, employment,
evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of the City
Manager.
Mayor McComb referred to Item 1.Mayor McComb stated that he had a list of
the City Manager candidates,to provide to the media and the public,that the
City Council expressed interest in for the consultant,Slavin Management
Consultants,to pursue additional information and begin background checks.

Mayor McComb provided the following names:Harry E.Black,James T.
Dinneen,Simon C.Farbrother,Lee R.Feldman,Samuel"Keith"Selman,and
Peter Zanoni.
2. Executive Session pursuant to Texas Government Code§ 551.071
and Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1.05 to
consult with attorneys concerning legal issues related to existing laws and
potential legislation of the Texas Legislature in relation to the City's
legislative agenda.
Mayor McComb referred to Item 2.The Council returned to executive session at
8:51 a.m.The Council returned from executive session at 11:15 a.m.
Mayor McComb recessed the Special Council meeting at 11:16 a.m.and stated
that the City Council would reconvene at 3:00 p.m.
C. EXECUTIVE SESSIONS:
Mayor McComb reconvened the Special Council Meeting at 3:01 p.m.and the
Council went into executive session on Items 1 and 2.The Council returned
from executive session at 3:34 p.m.
1. Executive session pursuant to Texas Government Code§ 551.074
