Services, LLC for the WaterWisel"" Education Program, a water and energy
efficiency education program for 5th grade students in the Corpus Christi
Independent School District beginning in the academic school year of 2019-2020,
for an amount not to exceed $26,400.00 for the first year, and $21,900.00 each year
for the following two years for a grand total not to exceed $70,200.00, effective upon
issuance of notice to proceed, with the first-year funded through the Water Fund.
WHEREAS, WaterWiseTM Education Program will provide a water conservation
program for 5th grade students at the Corpus Christi Independent School District;
WHEREAS, these services, are water and energy efficiency educational programs
for students.
WHEREAS, State law provides that such procurements, as outlined above, are
subject to statutory procurement requirements, including competitive bids, unless an
exception applies;
WHEREAS, there is a statutory exception for this procurement in Local
Government Code, Section 252.022(a) (2), as this purchase is necessary to preserve the
public health or safety of the City's residents; and
WHEREAS, there is also a statutory exception for this procurement in Local
Government Code, Section 252.022(a) (7) (A), as this purchase is available from only
once source because of patents, copyrights, secret processes, or natural monopolies.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in
the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents
and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement.
Section 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to secure a service agreement for the Educational Program which consists of
take-home kits full of water-efficient devices which the students take home and install, for
a total amount not to exceed $70,200.00, and funded through the Water Fund.

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly
authorized representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that
the money required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation
or expenditure described below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from
which it is to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments
are subject to annual appropriation by the City Council.
