additional one-year option periods with AutoWorks Unlimited, LLC, of
Corpus Christi, Texas, in an amount not to exceed $300,013.00 for
installation and repairs of radios and in-car cameras in Police
Department vehicles with FY 2020 estimated funding in the amount of
$75,003.25 available in the General Fund.
WHEREAS, emergency equipment installation and repairs will be requested by
Police Department personnel;
WHEREAS, this item is for emergency equipment installation and repairs for the
Police Department;
WHEREAS, State law provides that such procurements, as outlined above, are
subject to statutory procurement requirements, including competitive bids, unless an
exception applies;
WHEREAS, there is a statutory exception for this procurement in Local
Government Code, Section 252.022(a) (2), as this purchase is necessary to provide to
preserve or protect the public health and safety of the municipality's residents; and
WHEREAS, there is also a statutory exception for this procurement in Local
Government Code, Section 252.022(a) (7) (A), as this purchase is available from only
one source due to special processes or patents.
Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas:
Section 1. The City Council specifically finds that the foregoing statements included in
the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and adopts such findings for all intents
and purposes related to the authorization of this procurement.
Section 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute all documents
necessary to secure a two-year service agreement with up to two additional one-year
option periods with AutoWorks Unlimited, LLC, for emergency equipment installation and
repairs for Police Department vehicles, for a total amount not to exceed $300,013.00.

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly
authorized representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that
the money required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation
or expenditure described below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund specified below, from
which it is to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments
are subject to annual appropriation by the City Council.
