Box 9277 Corpus Christi, Texas 78469-9277 Leopard Street Roadside Safety Improvements, Phase 1 From Warpath Street to Rolling Acres Drive Project No. 2208 Dear Lupe: The purpose of this letter is threefold: 1) To inform you of the need for the City to move forward with the project's geotechnical investigation; 2) To provide you with information regarding the need for additional hydro-excavation of utilities; and, 3) To request that a revised schedule be accepted that incorporates the impact lo the project caused by items I and 2. Geotechnical lnvesti~lation We recently transmitted to the City, a proposal prepared by Rock Engineering and Testing Laboratory, Inc. (RETL) for the geotechnical investigatton needed to complete the design. It is our understanding that the City will soon be authorizing this work, but that it likely will not be completed in time for our 60% project design submittal. Therefore, we recommend that the City move forward with authorization of the RETL proposal and that om 60% submittal be accepted w~thout the geoteclmical parameters. Thus the 60% submittal will be completed to the level normally expected of such a submittal, but retaining wall, pavement section and trench bedding and backfill design will be limited until after receipt of the geotechnical information. Additional Hydro-Excavation Enclosed you will fred plans that indicate the locations where additional utility location determination will need to be undertaken utilizing hydro-excavation. We understand that you may include this work as a change order to the contractor performing construction of the Clarkwood Force Main project.
