AMENDMENT NO. 1
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "City", and COYM, REHMET & GUTIERREZ
ENGINEERING, INC. hereinafter called "Engineer", agree to the following amendments to the Contract for
Engineering Services for Holly Road Pump Station Structural/Mechanical Improvements, as authorized
and administratively amended by:

EXHIBIT "A", SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, PART A. BASIC SERVICES, ITEM NO. 2 DESIGN
PHASE shall be modified to include electrical engineering services for the repairs of Motor No. 5 and
Motor No. 1.
EXHIBIT "A", SECTION 3. FEES, PART C. SUMMARY OF FEES is amended.
See Summary of Fees ail. ached as Exhibit "B" Summary of Fees.
All other terms and conditions of the April 15, 2003 contract between the City and Engineer, and of any
amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Mr. Trejo,
As we discussed some time back and in a recent discussion with Larry Patterson, it is my
understanding thai you are requesting that payment for his consulting services regarding
clecuical motors at thc Holly Road Pmnping Station be made by our firm under an amendment
to our existing contract. As I stated to you, we have no problem with this arrangement. In this
regard, I have attached correspondence from Mr. Patterson requesting $5,000.00 for his services
to the City. 1 would requesl an additional $300.00 for our time in phone conversations,
correspondence, executing the amendment and clerical work associated with payment. This
would bring the amendment total to $5,300.00.

Dear Donnie,
Joe Trejo instructed me to provide my electrical engineering services for the repairs of
Motor #5 and Motor #1 as a part of your contract for services. Please request an
amendment to your contract for $ 5,000.00 for my services to the City.
The repairs to both motors have been completed. I have not accepted Motor No. 1
because I have not received the final report and have not accepted Motor No. 5 because
ora lack of resolution on the grease leak on the drive end bearing. Once these issues are
cleared up, I will accept the motors.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board Member". A member of any board, commission or committee appointed by the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Employee". Any person employed by the City of Corpus Chris[i, Texas, either on a full or part time basis, but not
as an independent contractor.
c. "Firm". Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or commercial and whether
established'to produc'e or deal with a product or service, including but not limited to, entities operated in the form
of sole proprietorship as self-employed person, partnership, corporation,joint stock company, joint venture,
receivership or trust and entities which, for purposes of taxation, are treated as non-profit organ zat ons.
d. "Official". The Mayor members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Managers,
Department and Division Heads and Municipal Coud Judges of the City of Corpus Chr st, Texas.
e. "Ownership Interest". Legal or equitable interest, whether actually or constructively held, in a firm, including when
such intercst is held through an agent, trust, estate or holding entity. "Constructively held" refers to holding or
control established through voting trusts, proxies or special terms of venture or partnership agreements.
