Xi~m A4, ~ ---~ B~ - The desiqn of SPA 30 (a proposed master plan sanitary sewer
pro.~e.?t) was on going through out the design phase of the Southsidm Water
w~ansnlsnton Main Phases 4 and 4A (SSTM). To accommodate SPA 30 design cJ~an~es that
we~w mp]mmented after the SSTM bid, a 42" casing pipe was added at Station 233+00
ant a' Station 243+90, 22.5 degree bends were a~ed at Station 232+90 and at Station
232+.~'-. ~nd 0.1 ~o 5.0 bells were deleted at Statio~ 233+00 and at Station 233+43
's~- Al t~chment No.'s 4 ,,nd 5).

dec4ded to take advantage of eMisting surface water drainage ~oints along the

bactexto]o~ical and chlorine residual testing (see AttmcJ~nt No. 7).
X~~m Welds were not required at these locations base~ on calculations carried
out during the ~esign phase. As an added safety feature to ensure Joint inte~rit¥
the T~'.~ Water D~partment decided to construct the pipe using full circ,~*erential
welus at these locations.
X~A9 - As an ack/ed ~afety feature, to ensure that Joint c~ntinuity was ~mlnta_i_ned
dur~nq plec~)ent of the water main pipe inside the steel caain~ ~ipe, the City Water
E)epartment decided to construct the pipe w~th full cir~erential wmlded Joints.

All stations shall be enclosed In a Iockable, nonremovable, etutninum-
cast housing.
When opened, the station shall require no key for operation, and the
water will flow ,n an el brass watervmy.
All w~'klng parts will be of brass and serviceable ~,um above ground
w~[h no digging. (Optional: If desired,. 1/2" brass drain tube sttaJl be
wll~in the locking cowr)
A 1" ball vane ~ co~bul the water flow, and be located befo~
the sempIIng bibb, as manufactured by Kupferie Foundry
MO 631O2.
