AMENDMENT NO.3
TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
This City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and Urban Enaineerina. hereinafter
called "CONSULTANT", agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services
for Downtown Drainaae Improvements. Phase 1. Proiect "An Water Street Interceptor and
Inlets (Proiect No. 2036) as authorized and administratively amended by:

· In the original contract. Section 2. SCOPE OF WORK shall be modified by the addition of the
following scope as shown on the attached Exhibit "A":
,... To provide environmental services to assist in dealing with the contaminated soils that were
encountered during the construction of the box culvert in Water Street between Coopers
Alley Street and John Sartain Street.
· In the original contract, Section 3. FEE shall be modified as shown on the attached Exhibit "A"
for a total fee not to exceed $24.184.00 (in fi es), Twentv-Four Thousand One Hundred
Eiahty-Four Dollars and Zero Cents) (in ords), r a total restated fee not to exceed
$1.155.899.00 (in figures), One Million One undred Fi Five Thousand Ei ht Hundred Ninet -
Nine Dollars and Zero Cents (in words). ,
All other terms and conditions of the Contract ~d Amendmen~ between the City and Consultant
will remain in full force and effect. . .

Dear Jeny:
As you are aware contaminated soils were encountered during the construction of the
box culvert in Water 51. between Coopers Alley St. and John Sartain St. We were requested to
provide environmental services to assist in dealing with the contaminated soil. A summary of
the services to be provided and the cost are outline in the following:
1 Provide recommended soil and groundwater sampling program, assist in
the sampling and determine disposal and/or treatment requirements.
Determine, based on the type of material encountered, whether the
material is under the jurisdiction of Texas Commission on Environmental
Quality or the Railroad Commission.
2. Attend meetings with City, contact regulatory agencies to discuss
questions and issues and perform research on pipeline ownership.
3. Prepare release notification paperwork on the material and coordinate
with regulatory agency.
4. Remove and property dispose of exist. abandoned 4" dia. petroleum line.
5. Provide mobile oillwater separator: 4 months x $3,473

We request that our present AE contract be amended to add the engineering services to

DEFINITIONS
a.
Board Member. A member of any board, commission or committee appointed by the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas.
Employee. Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, either on a full or part time basis, but not as
an independent contractor.
Firm. Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or commercial and whether
established to produce or deal with a product or service, including but not limited to, entities operated in the form
of sole proprietorship, as self-employed person, partnership, corporation'd.oint stock company, joint venture,
receivership or trust and entities whi6h, for purposes of taxation, are treate as non-profit organizations.
