Re: Legal Services Agreement to assist the City with specialized legal
services relating to water issues
Dear Mr. Lewis:
This will confirm your employment by the City of Corpus Christi to assist the
City with governmental relations services relating to general water issues.
You will act as the City's liaison for legislative and regulatory matters dealing
with water legislation, water rights and general water issues. You will assist
the City, Legislative members, and regulatory entities by providing data,
information and research relating to the full range of sub-surface and surface
water use, You will keep informed as to discussions and proposals relating to
general water related matters and provide the City with regular briefings.
Your services will be performed at a rate of $5,000.00 beginning August 1,
2005 and ending August 31, 2005. A monthly rate of $3,500 will begin on
September 1, 2005 and end July 31, 2006. Services above $43,500.00
require additional authorization. Expenses are also to be itemized and will be
limited to reasonable and customary charges. (For example, first class airfare
and luxury suites are not considered reasonable.) Billing will be submitted
monthly to Mary Kay Fischer in the City Legal Department, and will be payable
within 30 days of receipt. This agreement is exclusive of any other agreement
between you and the City. Billings under separate agreements must be kept
separate

included herein. Keep one of the originals and return the other to the City
Attorney.
