HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2006-178 - 5/16/2006 - Approved WORK ORDER FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES UNDER LANDFILL SERVICES AGREEMENT This Work Order is for additional serviceS as authorized by Article II, Section 2.02(a)(xvii) of the Landfill Services Agreement between the City of Corpus Christi, a Texas home rule mll1icipal corporation ("City") and BFI Waste Services of North America, Inc. ("8Ft"), dated February 24, 2005 18Ft will spread, compact, and cover approximately 209,00 cubic yard of overfill from Sector 9 in Sector 11, which will be excavated, loaded, and delivered to Sector 11 by the City through a separate contract. a. The City's contractor will deliver the overfill to the open face in Sector 11 designated by BFI at a rate of approximately 6,000 cubic yards per day; b. BFI will spread, compact and cover the waste on a daily basis per the provision of the Landfill Services agreement dated February 4, 2005 and regulations of the Texas Commission for Environmental Quality; c. The antiCIpated duration of the time required to complete the work is thirty five (35) calendar days excluding Sundays; d. If additional days are required to complete the project for any reason other than failure by the City's contractor to deliver the overfill within thirty five (35) calendar days excluding Sundays, unless such failure is due to the inability of 8FI to properly spread, compact and cover a minimum of 6,000 cubic yards daily, 8FI will provide the additional days to required to spread, compact and cover the entire 209,000 cubic yards at no cost to the City. 2 The rate for the additional work authorized by this Work Order will be as set out in this section and will not be based on the rates specified in Exhibit A on the Landfill Service Ageement a. The City will pay 8FI a fixed not to exceed amount of $848,400.00 for all fees and expenses to complete the work order. This fee will be full and total compensation for all services provided and expenses incurred in performing the tasks specified b. The loads transported by the City's contractor will not be weighed and the cubic yards transported will be determined by the City's consultant based upon a survey of the overfill before and after completion of the project 3. 8FI will mobilize and begin work June 8, 2006.
