REF Rolled Curb & Gutter Replacement FY2005 (PN# 2251)
It is requested that my contract for professional services, dated April, 2005 be
amencted for an additional am8Unt of $10,560 for the following reasons.
The construction contract period is for 365 calendar days from April 20,
2005. The contractor has not yet completed the work. He has been delayed due
to mismanagement at all levels. I have had to spend more time than anticipated
to insure that the contractor completes the work to an acceptable level of quality.
The contractor has had to do re-work in several areas due to poor supervision in
the field.
It is eatimated at this time that the contractor will finish all work in about 60
calenclar days, including final inspections and closeout documentation.
My original proposal was based on spending three (3) hours per work day on this
projeClt. Due to the additional time required to complete the work, I will have
spent .an average of 4 hours per day, plus an additional two months past the
completion date. While I am willing to accept the original fee for the contract
period, I request additional compensation for the remaining work, calculated at 4
hours per day, 44 days, at $601hour for a total amendment of $10,560.
I believe that the extra time and effort spent by me on this job has prevented
termination of the contract which would have been more costly both to the City
and to the Contractor.
Sincerely yours,
~ 'j /
