HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2006-276 - 6/2/2006 - NA AMENDMENT NO.1 RATIFICATION TO CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "City", and Solka Nava Torno hereinafter caled "Architect", agrees to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for improvements to the Northwest Library Expansion project as authorized by: ~Original COiltract IM~ 1~,2005 Motion No. 2005-148 $196,385.00 I · The original CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES, SECTION 2. shall be modified by the inclusion of the following paragraphs: The Consultant, in the performance of this contract, will exercise usual and customary professional care in Consultant's efforts to comply with the applicable codes and regulations of City, State, and other Federal authorities having jurisdiction including applicable fire codes, life safety codes, health regulations, Texas Department of Insurance Windstorm Protection requirements, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Elimination of Architectural Barriers Program (Article 9102), the Texas Trench Safety Act, and the Storm Water Retention Act .. · The original contract, EXHIBIT A, SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, NUMBER 2 DESIGN PHASE, shall be modified to include the following statements: The Consultant, in the performance of this contract, will provide for engineering inspections during the progress of the project to ensure execution and delivery to the City Engineer a WPI-II Windstorm Certificate as required by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, executed by an Engineer licensed to practice in Texas. The Consultant, in the performance of this contract, on behalf of the City Engineer, will work in cooperation with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to ensure plan review and the inspection phase of the project is completed for compliance with Article 9102 - Texas Statutes, Elimination of Architectural Barriers Program. · The original contract, EXHIBIT A, SECTION 3. Design of parking spaces fronting the proposed library entrance. The improvements to include demolition of portions of existing curb, gutter and parking spaces including wheelchair ramps and construction of new pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and wheelchair ramps complying with the Texas Accessibility Standards. 9 Modify the entrance to make it accessible for school buses. The improvements to include new curb and gutter and repairs to pavement. 10. Design of 24 new parking spaces, an extension of existing parking lot. The improvements to include removal of existing curb and gutter and extension of existing concrete paving with new curb and gutter and 6' wide sidewalks. 11. Design of new drainage ditch from the new parking area into an existing 48" storm water line along McKinzie Road. Improvements to include construction of new ditch along the new fence line, an extension to the existing valley gutter, new post inlet and a new manhole 12. Perform field survey in the area of proposed new improvements on existing property, 13. Prepare Plans and Specifications for the project according to City of Corpus Christi format. All other terms and conditions of the May 19, 2005 contract between the City and Architect, which are not specifically addressed herein, shall remain in full force and effect.
