AMENDMENT NO.1 - AGREEMENT for
Geotechnical, Groundwater Monitoring and Sampling Services
This AGREEMENT is by and between the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called
"CITY", and KLEIN FELDER. INC. , hereinafter called "LAB", which agree as follows:
1. DECLARATIONS. "CITY" desires to engage "LAB" to provide services in connection with
City's project, hereinafter called THE PROJECT, described as follows: J. C. Elliott Landfill _
Groun*,ater Monitorina and Samplina - 2006
2. SCOPE OF WORK. "LAB" shall provide services for THE PROJECT in accordance with
the accompanying Scope of Services and Fee Schedule attached as "Exhibit A", the Terms and
Conditions to AGREEMENT attached as "Exhibit B", and the Special Insurance Requirements attached
as OExhibit CD
3. FEE. The "CITY" agrees to pay the "LAB" for services provided in accordance with Exhibit
"A", Scope of Services and Fee Schedule under this AGREEMENT, an additional total fee not to
exceed $11.525.00 (in figures), SIXTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS
AND NCJlCENTS (in words) for a restated not to exceed total fee of $152,750.00.
4. CITY'S DISCLOSURE OF HAZARDOUS & TOXIC MATERIALS AND CONDITIONS AT
THE PROJECT "CITY" warrants to "LAB" that to the best of its knowledge, based upon currently
available information, the only hazardous or toxic materials, as defined by the laws and regulations of
the Federal government, the state, and city which exist at THE PROJECT are as follows: NONE.
"C ITY" acknowledges and confirms that "LAB" is relying upon the above warranty in undertaking to
perform the services described in this AGREEMENT.

Dear Mr Mikolajczyk:
The subject change order is being submitted in order to begin compliance with
regulations of Texas Commission on Environmental Quality that became effective
March 31, 2006. These regulations prohibit filtration of groundwater samples collected
for monitoring groundwater quality at landfills and allow a two-year period to collect
unfiltered samples to determine background.
SCOPE OF AMENDED BASIC SERVICES
1. In addition to the routine list of constituents for analysis add the following at each
semi annual detection monitoring event conducted in July, 2006: Total arsenic,
total barium, total cadmium, total chromium, total lead, total selenium, total iron,
and total magnesium.
2. In October 2006, conduct a background monitoring event analyzing only the
following constituents: Total arsenic, total barium, total cadmium, total
chromium, total lead, total selenium, total iron, and total magnesium.
COMPENSA TION
Basic rates of the current contract will apply. The total additional cost of this change is
estimated as follows:
July 2006 Detection Monitoring Event: additional analysis only.
October 2006 Background Monitoring Event: labor, equipment,
and analysis of total constituents.
