HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2006-511 - 10/17/2006 - NAAMENDMENT NO. 2 TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF CORPUS CHRiSTi AND PUBLIC TECHNOLOGY Mi.STiTUTE TO PERF~tM PROFESSiONAI CON3ULTING SERVICES This Amendmerrt No. 2 is to the Agreement errtitled °Agreement between the City of Corpus Christi and Public Technology Institute ("PTI") to perform professionai consultir~g services for Automated Meter reading Year 1 system expansion" dated Ssptem#~er 1, 2005, {"AgreemenY'). 1Nhe~e~, the Agresm~t provided for four months of professional consulting services, for not to exceed $55,000 fee, with options to extend for two four month extension terms; ~ere~, by Amendment No. 1, the parties extended the agreement for finro additional four month periods, to end August 3~ . 2006; Now, thefefore, ConsulEant and City agree as follows: 1. The prarties acknowiadge that as of August 31, 2~6, $48,620.12 remains available f~ prof~sional consulting services under the Agreement as extended. 2. Sectron II. Scope af Services is amended to read as follows: A. PTI shall dev~lop and heip support discussions and conferences with ~Fi network partne~, promoting Guiding Principles that can hetp the city derive rnaximum value f~om its investment in the WiFi network. B. PTI shall Waic with the Intel Corporation and their ~liated industry patterns to ensure that tt~ Proof of Conc~pt projects under way deliver expected ben~ts, and that their ultimate success is channeied into the emerging Partnership efforts. C. PTI shall assist the City in organizing Economic Development strategies to ~clude roundtables, community partnerships and agreemerrts that can take advantage of the WiFi network to promote economic activity on Corpus Christi. D. PTI shatl corrtinue to assist tne City in its effort to develop effective communica#ions strategies towards private industry and other govemments in #he US and abraad that will take advantage of the WiFi network successes. E. PTI will continue to provide strategic direction to the city's efforts to deploy the AMR and WiFi r~etwork systems, and corrtribute written commerrts and dra~t reports as direct~d. F. PTI shall devsetop an evaluation framework for measuring and documenting tfi~e productivity impact of WiFi technology-stimulated work process improvements G. PTI shal! provide training to city staff in understanding the new management 2006-511 10/17/06 PT~~ ~~DEX~C~ opportunities (both in service delivery, as well as cost containment) and be available to help deploy new strategies at the departmental level. H. PTI shall offer advice regarding the organizational structures and procedures that can make best use of the WiFi network technology available to all departments. 3. The term of the Agreement is continued until the funds authorized under the Agreement are expended. 4. The City and PTI agree that all other terms and conditions remain in full force and ef##ect through the term of the Agreement. This Amendment No. 2 is effective on date of ia~t signa#ure.
