Police Department Chilled Water Plant Upgrade - 2006
CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL/ENGINEERING SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called "City", and Stridde, Callins &
Associates, hereinafter called "Consultant", hereby agree to the amendment of the contract
approved May 23, 2006 by Motion No. 2006-152 as follows:
Sectian II. Scope of Services is amended by the addition of Subsection 11 to address architectural
services associated with roof repairs necessary to accommodate roof repairs on and around the
large cooling tower due to asbestos abatement associated with the cooling towers to read:

11 Arch's#ectural Services - Roof Repairs
The Cansultant will provide architectural services as follows:
a. Revisw existing drawings to coordinate design work with existing conditions.
b. Prepare and submit final sealed drawings and specifications.
c. Review submittal data submitted by the contractor indicating materials proposed for
installation and return indicating approval, modifications, or disapproval.
d. Perform two (2) job site reviews of work performed by the contractor to ensure the work
performed by the contractor is in compliance with the contract documents including a final
punch list.
e. Communicate with the contractor and City staff during construction as required to respond to
requests for information regarding the drawings and specifications. Communications will be
by telephone or fax whenever possible, but will be documented in writing. When
communication cannot be accommodated by telephone or fax, jobsite meetings will be
attended by the Consultant
Section III Fees Authorized is amended to read:
III. FEE~,AUTHORIZEp
The C~yy will pay the Consultant a total not to exceed fee of $47,000.00. This fee will be full and total
compensation for all services provided and expenses incurred in performing the tasks specified as
basic, construction, and post-construction phase services specified in Section II.
The f~ con~ists of an original fee total in the amount of $43,500.00, and a fee for Amendment No.
1 ~n the amount of $3,500.00.
The table "Summary of Fees" shall be used when calculating the fee due for the proportion of
servic4s completed. The City shall make prompt payments in response to Consultant's statements
for Professional Services.
Billing for services provided in Section I I 1, 2, 3, and 5 will be based on the Consultant's estimate of
the percent of services complete at the time of billing. However, in no case will the billing exceed
90% af the fee for each phase until the delivery of documents associated with each phase has been
reviev~ed and accepted by the City. Billing for services provided in Section 11.4 will be based on the
amount of construction completed. Billing for services provided in Section II.C.2 shall be payable
upon delivery of the record drawings to the City Engineer. Billing for services provided in Section
II. ~; will be payable upon performance of inspections and delivery of all materials to the City.

City of the proportion of the total services actually completed at the time of billing. The City will
make prompt monthly payments in response to Consultant's monthly invoices.
Afl invoices shall be accompanied by a cover letter summarizing the fee in accordance with the
Summary Schedule of Fees. Invoices will be sequentially numbered for each project and state the
project name. The letter shall state the number of the current invoice, the contract fee for each task,
the amount previously invoiced for each task, and the current amount due. Invoices will be
organized to accommodate funding sources. During the construction phase, the Architect/Engineer
will also submit a brief letter/memo summarizing observations during the site visit, the work of the
contractor. construction progress for the billing period, and any pending items.
