Uur original fee was ba.sed on a project scope of work prepazed for Araendmes~t No. 2 that was added to the original contract for Water Main Improvements along Elizabeth and 19th Street (Praject No. 8488). Said scope of work was for the development of construction plaas and documeirts for approxim~tely 3,625 LF (Snal design was 3,806 LF~ of water main replacement along Leopard Street from Uppcr Broadway to IViexico Street (called Part `A;) and 1,fi00 LF (f~l de~n was 1,684 LF~ of water main replacement along Third Street from Elizabeth to Buford (called Part `A'). (See Attachment "A", Amendment No. 2 to Contract for Professional Services} Revised Design. City deternuned the need to include water r~in replacernent exbensious from the proposed Leopard Street water main at the locations listed below. Pleaase no#e that the water main along Alameda (item 1 below} was later included as part of the base bid. The rest of the water main extensions (items 2 through 5) were added to the base t~d as Additive Alternates 1 through 4. Please note that a to~al cre$it of $22,320 wi~ be assessed to the orgroal A/E co~ract fox v~arious services th~ wer~ ~rot rendered untier optional services. Please note that an adjustment to the oc~ginal A/E contract is strown in Attachment "B" under Optional Services for a joint Pt~lic Iv~tu~g that was held for Eli7abeth and 19t6 Street projects and not fnr the Leupard Street project . The revisod total amount ~or basic engineering services that is being requested fnr this A!E coffi~sct is $151,615, which includes the origmal fee (a90,444) fur re]ated en~ineer~dg services in cotmection to the new water mains along Leapard Street and Tl~d St~+e~et, as well as additional fees ($61,171 as st~ted above) for engineering services in eoime~n to the water main exteasions from I.eopard Street prepared as Additive A.~ernatee 1 through 4. This amount represents approximateiy 5.~ percent of the ap~roxirn~te total constniction cost of $2,980,502 (i.e, $2,720,502 for the actual ca~struc~n contract price offered by SLC Constrvction, plus ~ 145,000 for the estimated net increase in construction cost involving the impending change order for the Caranca~ water main (approximately 345 L~ from Lipan to Blucher, plus ap~roxit~stely S115,000 in increase~ construction cost for the change order involving a new line aegment (approx~tnately 365 L~ along Tancahua from Beldon to Power Streest. CLOSING REMARKS Tl~e scope of our services has changed substantially. Said extra services included the prvparatit~n of biddin~g exZnbits and computmg bid quantities for each of the Additive AKernate~ to be included m the bidding documents; additional investigation and coordina~ion with public a~d private utility companies; additional survey services; the pre~arati~n of additional construction plans including plaz~ and profile drawuigs, traffic ca~trol pLns, pavement m~rking plans, and storm water pollution prevention plans; and a~itional construction administration services and coordination with the City Water, C~strud~n, and Engineering Services Departm~ents. In all, approximately 3,562 LF of ne~vv watar main was added to this Srm's A/E contract for the Leopan~/T'hird Street Water M~in Im~ovements Project, which is an increase of 64.9 percent of the length of water m~n that was to be designed originally.
