ENGINEERING SERVECES ~
We were ~equested by Engineering Services Staff to add to the scope of the subject
project the improvements to Pump No. 3 at the Power St. Pump Station. This wortc item
involves removal and rept~cement of the existing engine driven motor and drive gear and
refurk~shing of the existing pump. Engineering services include developing a specification and
worki~g with the Purchasing Department to obta~n the new engine set and preparing plans and
speci~catioris for instaNation of the new engine and refurbishing of the existing pump. It is
proposed tl~t the construdian be done as a change order to the existing Kinney St. Pump
Station pro~Ct being performed by T&C Construction. The additional engineenng services
requirod for this item include initial investigation, p~eliminary estimates of probable costs,
prepane design, develop scope, prepare civil and electrical plans, contacting the Contractor
conc~ning the additional work, negotiating and prepanng change order, reviewing/approving
the additiona~ work in pay estimates, answering Contractor questions, checking progress and
chedr~g completion. This work should start immediately to have the improvements completed
before June 1, 2007 and an anticipated timeline for the proposed improvements is attached.
We request that our present AE contract be amended by $24,912 to add the engineering
servic,~es to accomplish th~s additional work. A breakdown of the additional fee is provided on
the attached table. Please review and let me know should you have any questions or
