CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, P.O. Box 9277, Corpus Christi, Texas 78469 -9277
hereinafter called "City" and HDR Engineering, Inc., 2211 South IH35, Suite 300, Austin,
Texas 78741 hereinafter called "Engineer ", hereby agree to the following amendment to
the contract for engineering services as approved April 11, 2000, Motion No. 2000 -111,
amended January 30, 2001, Motion 2001 -046, and March 13, 2001, Motion 2001 -106,
admir0sstratively amended June 5, 2001, and administratively amended July 6, 2001,
and August 21, 2001, Motion 2001 -320, and November 18, 2003, Motion 2001 -416 and
administratively approved March 10, 2005:
Section II, SCOPE OF SERVICES, PHASE II, shall be modified by the deletion of
Section II.B.7.h to Construction Observation Services — Rincon Diversion Pipeline,
BASIC SERVICES.
Section II, SCOPE OF SERVICES, PHASE II, shall be modified by the addition of
Section II.6.5. xii and xiii to Design Phase Services — Rincon Diversion Pipeline, BASIC
SERVICES to read:
B. Additional Services
5.xii Warning Buoy System — Prepare installation drawing and bill of materials for
warner buoy system to keep boaters and swimmers away for intake structure.
5xiii Wind Storm Certificate — Conduct additional inspections required to issue Wind
Storm Certificate for the electrical building.
Section II, SCOPE OF SERVICES, PHASE II, shall be modified by the addition of
Section II.B.7.h to Construction Phase Services — Rincon Diversion Pipeline, BASIC
SERVICES to read:
B. Additional Services
7.h Construction Phase Services — Additional Site Visits and Coordination for
research to provide contractor guidance including:
• Research to adjust structure due elevation error by contractor in pouring the
slab;
• Adjustments to piping and support system due to inclusion of three (3) 36-
inch meters in lieu of one 60 -inch meter; and
• Meeting with contractor to coordinate replacement of "duck- bill" valve which
blew out during initial start up.
The Engineer will perform and complete the following tasks:
Task 15 Addftional Meetings
It is acknowledged the Engineer attended 26 additional meetings beyond those
authorized and those services are ratified to authorize payment.

FEE FOR SERVICES AUTHORIZED
The City will pay the Engineer a total fee not to exceed $1,573,750 for providing all
services authorized by the contract. Engineer will submit monthly statements for
services rendered. The City will make prompt monthly payments in response to
Engineer's monthly statements.
For services provided in Section ILA, payment will be made based upon the Engineer's
estimate of the portion of work completed. However, the total of the payments made for
Basic Services will not exceed 95% of the total authorized fee until all deliverables
specified in Exhibit A are accepted and approved by the City Engineer.
For services provided in Sections II.B.1 and 11.6.9, payment will be made based upon
the hourly rate for regulatory assistance set forth in Exhibit E -1. The Engineer will be
reimbursed at actual costs plus ten percent (10 %) for airfare, ground transportation,
lodging, and per diem meal expenses. The Engineer may be required and authorized
by the City Attorney to retain the services of sub - consultants. The Engineer will be
reimbursed any sub - consultant, computer modeling, copying and mapping costs
authorized by the City Attorney at actual cost. Travel expenses will be will be
documented by photocopies of receipts and invoices.
For services provided in Section 11.6.2, 3, 4, 5.a, 5.b, 6 and 8 payment will be made
based upon a fixed fee amount set forth by the Summary of Services and Fees listed as
Table 1 — Summary of Fees.
For services provided in 11.6.7 and 11.611 f , payment will be made based on the
percentage of construction complete as evidenced by the approved contractor's monthly
progress payments.
Summary of Services and Fees are listed as Table 1 — Summary of Fees on the
following page. A detail of fees by sub -tasks are attached to the original contract as
Exhibit B
