INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHR1STl, TEXAS AND COUNTY OF
NUECES,TEXAS
20Q7 BYRNE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) PROGRAM AWARD
This agreement is made and entered into this 20th day of June 2007, by and
between the COUNTY of NUECES, acfing by and through i#s governing body,
the Commissioners Court, hereinafter referred to as C4UNTY, and the CITY af
CORPUS CHRISTI, acting ~y and through its gov~rning body, the City Co~ancii,
hereinafter referrec! fo as CITY, both of Nueces Coun#y, State of Texas,
witnesseth:
WHEREAS, this Agreemen# is mad~ under the authority of Section 791.0'11(a},
Government Code: and
WHEREAS, each go~ernit~g body, in performing go~ernmental func#ions or ir~
paying for tF~e performance of governmental functiot~s hereunder, shal! malCe tl~at
performance or #hose payments from current revenues legally availabEe to that
party: and
WHEREAS, each governing body finds that the perFormance o~ this Agreement
is ir~ the bes# interests of both parties, #hat the undertaking will benefit the public,
and that the division of costs fairly compensates the performing party for the
services or functians under this agreement: and
WHEREAS, the CITY agrees to pro~ide #he COUNTY fifty percent {50%)~of alE
funds recei~ed from the JAG award: anc!
WHEREAS, the CITY and COUNTY believe it to be in their best interests to
reallocate the JAG funds.

NOW THEREFORE, the C~UNTY and ClTY agree as follows:

CITY agrees to pay COUNTY a total of fifty percent (50%} of JAG funds recei~ed
from this award.
Section 2.
COUNTY agrees to use the fifty percent (50%) of JAG funds recei~ed from CITY
under this agreement for the enhancement of law enforcement during its 2007-
2p08 ~iscal y~ar.
Section 3.
Nothing in the performance of this Agreement shall impose any liab~lity #or claims
against COUNTY other than claims for which liability may be imposed by the
Texas Tort Claims Act.
Section 4,
Nothing in the perFormance of this Agreement shalf impose any liability for claims
against CITY other than claims ~or which liabifity may be imposed by the Texas
Tort Claims Act.
Section 5.
Each party to this Agreement will be responsible for its own actions in providing
services under this Agreement and shal! not be liable for any civif liability that
may arise from the furnishing of the services by the o#her party.
Section 6.
The pa~ties to #his Agreemen# do no# intend for any tf~ird party to ob#ain a right by
vir~ue of this Agreement.
Section 7.
By entering into this Agreement, the par~ies do not intend to create any
obligations, express or implied, other than those set out herein. F~rther, this
Agreement shall not create any rights in any party not a signatory hereto.
