HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2007-407 - 11/20/2007 - NAI~YT~ OF OR~U HR~ST~, ~~.~~ A-~ 1 D REREA 1 I VN DEPARTMENT ANI~ THE OR~'U HRITZ AREA GARDEN COUNCIL, INC, AOREEIVIENT FOR USE OF OARI~EN SENIOR IvENTER wHEREA, an November 1, 193, pursuant to Ordinance No. ~~85, the City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called "City" and the Corpus Christi Area garden Council, Inc, ~`~Carden Council"}, entered into a contract for the construction of Carden Center by Carden Council, situated in the Carpus Chrrst, Nueces County, Texas, at 535 Creely Dr. which Center then became the propey of the City and the responsibility of the City to operate and maintain thereafter; "L~HEREA, the City informed the Carden Council in 1 ~~] that City would no longer provide maintenance and upl~eep on the garden Center and that the Carden Center would be remodeled as a Senior Center with the understanding the Darden Council would have rights similar to those stated in the original contract;. wHERE,~, said contract p~o~ided that the Carden Council or any of the member clubs of the Carden Council would be charged no rent for the use of the Center during regular hours of operation; wHEREA~S, the Carden Center was remodeled and expanded into a Senior Center and is now known as the Carden Senior Center. NOw THEREFORE, City and Carden Council agree as follows: ~. Use of amen cnror tenter. The Corpus Christi Axea Crarden Council, Inc, ~"Carden Council'}} and its rneirrber clubs shall have the right to meet and hold garden related functioa~s at the Carden Senior Center rent free during regular hours of operation of the Carden Senior Center as long as the Carden Council and its member clubs exist. As new clubs loin the Carden Council, meeting times will be provided for them either during the day or in the evening, during the City' ~ regular hours of operation of the Carden Center. Also once a year, the City agrees to temporarily relocate the exercise equipment from the wellness Room to the Sara Loeb room far the annual flower Show The Garden Council shall be allowed to use the Center far meetings, workshops, flower show schools, flower shows, symposiums, seminars, a~.d any other Crarden Council related functions at no charge during regular hours of operation. The Carden Council will have access to the Carden storage shed and be able to store Carden Caunci~ properties far use in the patio and other events. The Carden Council and its members wi11 have use of the library cases in the Crepe Myrtle roam for banks and other accessories needed at meetings. 7, This agreement takes effect upon date of last signature.
