TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and Coym, Rehmet & Gutierrez Ens~ineerino,
L.P., hereinafter called "CONSULTANT", agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional
Services for Everhart Road, Phase 1-Saratoga t_o Cedar Pass IProiect No. 6263) as au#horized and

!n the original contract, Exhibit "A", Section 1. SCOPE OF WORK shall be modified by the addition of the
following scope:
- Additional Design Phase Services to prepare Additive Alternate No. 2 #o extend the proposed
24" sanitary sewer gravity line and the proposed 24" force main by boring across Saratoga
Boulevard.
- Additional Design Phase Services to provide quantities and cost estimates for Additive
Alternate No. 3 to extend the 24"gravity sewer line and 24" force main from the north side of
Saratoga Boulevard to the Country Club Lift Station.
^ In the original contract, Exhibit "A", Section 3. FEES is amended as described in the attached Exhibit"A-1"
for a revised fee not to exceed $10,990.00 (Ten Thousand Nine Hundred Nitt~ty_Dollars and Zero Cents},
for a total restated fee not to exceed $656.644.00 {Six Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand Six Hundrgd Fortv-
Four Dollars and Zero Cents}.
All other terms and conditions of the Contract and Amendments between the City and Consultantwill remain
in full force and effect.

We were recently notified that the proposed 24" sanitary sewer gravity line and the proposed 24"
force main may need to be extended underneath Saratoga Boulevard by the bore and case
method of construction. These changes will be added to our original set of plans as "Additive
Alternate No. 2". We have evaluated our effort required to add the improvements to our set of
plans, which are presently in the final stages of design. This change will result in additional
design effort as well as additional sheets, which will have to be added to our plans. We have
been informed that in the interest of time, na traffic control-plan or SWPPP will be included in
the Additive Alternate No. 2. We have been instructed to simply insert allowances in the
Proposal for the ancillary items and if budget constraints allow acceptance of the Alternate No.
2, a final design of these items will be completed and issued as a change order. This will, of
course, involve additional engineering charges. Additional survey work and changes to the
contract documents will also be required. In this regard, I have prepared an analysis of the
required tasks for the additional work, which is shown as Attachment "A" hereto. I have also
included a proposed Summary of Fees for Amendment No. 2.
Additionally, under the same Amendment No. 2 to our contract, we were requested to add
quantities and various line items solely to the proposal as required to extend the 24" gravity
sewer line and 24" force main from the north side of Saratoga Blvd. to the Country Club Lift
Station. This work will be added to our proposal under "Additive Alternate No. 3". The
manhour analysis for the completion of this work has been incorporated in Attachment "A". It is
our understanding that this Alternate No. 3, like Alternate No. 2, if accepted, will require us to
complete a final design to be issued as a change order, again involving additional engineering
charges.
We are requesting that Authorization be given to complete the "Permit Preparation" portion of
our contract in order for any TxDOT comments or requirements to be included in Additive
Alternate No. 2.

DEFINfTIONS
"Board Member". A member of any board, commission or committee appointed by the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas.
"Employee". Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christ+, Texas, either on a full or part time basis, but not
as an independent contractor.
c. "Firm". Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial ar commercial and whether
established to produce or deal with a product or service, including but not limited to, entities operated in the form
of sole proprietorship, as self-employed person, partnership, corporation, oint stock company, joint venture,
receivership or trust and entities which, far purposes of taxation, are treate~ as non-profit organizations.
d. "Official". The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, De uty City Mana er, Assistant City Managers,
Department and Division Heads and Municipal Court Judges of the ~ity of Corpus~hristi, Texas.
