A. Through such additional observations of Contractor's work in progress and field checks of materials and equipment by the PR and assistants, the Consultant shall endeavor to provide further protection for the City against defects and deficiencies in the vl~ork. B. The duties and responsibilities of the PR are as described as follows below. ~ . general: PR gill act as directed by and underthe supervision of Consultant, and will confer with Consultant regarding PR's actions. PR's dealings in matters pertaining to the Cvntractorrswark in pragressshall ingeneral bewith Consultant and Contractor, keeping the City advised as necessary, Conferences and Meetings: Attend meetings with the Contractor, such as pre- contructionconferences, progress meetings job conferences and otherproject- related meetings as required by the City. Liaison: genre as a Liaison with Contractor, working principally through Contractor's superintendent and assist in understanding the intent of Contract Documents. PR shall cor~r~unicate with City with the knowledge of and underthe direction of the Consultant. 4. Interpretation of Contract Documents: Report when clarifications and interpretations ofthe Contract Documents are needed and transmit to Contractor clarifications and interpretations as issued. shop Drawings and samples: a. Receive samples, which are furnished at the bite by Contractor, and notify availability of samples for examination b. Record date and receipt of samples and approved shop drawings. c. Advise Contractor of the commencement of any portion of the Work requiring a shop drawing or sample submittal forwith PR believes that the submittal has not been approved. Review of vlr~ark and Rejection of Defective 1~IJork: a. Conduct on-site observations of Contractor's work in progress to assist Consultantin determining ifthework is ingeneral proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents. b. Revie~v Contractor's pay requests for general conformance vuith completion of the ~rork, and prepare documentation for submittal to ityF Records: a, N[aintain orderly files for correspondence, reports of job conferences, reproduction of original Contract Documents including all Change orders, Field orders, Work Change Directives, Addenda, additional Drawings, Issued subsequent to the Contract, consultant clarifications and interpretations of theContract Documents, progress reports, chap Drav~rings and Bample submittals received from and delivered to Contractorand other Project related documents. b. Prepare a daily report utilizing approved City format, recording Contractors hours on site, Breather conditions, data relative to changed conditions, site visitors, daily activities, decisions, observations in general, and specific observations in more detail as in the case of observing test procedures. S. Reports: a. Furnish periodic reports are required of progress of the vl~ork and of Contractor's compliance uvith the progress schedule and schedule of shop drav~rings and sample submittals, b. Report immediately to the City and Consultant the occurrence of any site accidents, and hazardous environmental conditions, emergencies, or acts of Cod endangering the utrork, and property damaged byfire of other causes. c. Provide project photo reports adequately showing the progress of the u~ork, including an adequate amount of photograph documentation of utility conflicts. g. Completion: a, Before the issue of Certificate of Completion, submit to Contractor a list of observed items requiring completion or correction, b, Participate in a final inspection in the company of Consultant, the City and Contractor and prepare a final list of items to be completed or corrected. c.
