SCOPE OF WORK shall be modified by the addition of the following scope: As part of the Bond Issue 2008 Street Improvements Program, the City of Corpus Christi proposes to include several neighborhood clusters to receive paving improvements. In addition, water, wastewater, storm water and gas improvements will be funded out of the capital improvements program, as appropriate. Preliminary scoping, area maps, and opinions of probable costs will be prepared for the following neighborhood clusters: - Crestmont Subdivisions - Area bounded by Everhart, Gollihar, Airline and McArdle - Hillcrest Neighborhood bounded by Floral Street, West Broadway, Port Avenue and IH-37 • SCHEDULE amended as follows: 1. Preliminary Phase Submittal Due February 29, 2008 3 weeks from Notice To Proceed (February 8, 2008) 2. Conceptual Design Phase No Later Than A ril 8, 2008 4 weeks from Council Authorization March 11, 2008 90% Submittal Due NOT APPLICABLE 100% Bid Documents Due NOT APPLICABLE 3. Box 9277 Corpus Christi, TX 78469 Re: Preliminary Scoping and Estimating Services. for Bond Issue 2008 Streei Projects .City Project No, 6435 Rear:Mr. Stowers; On March 13, HDR provided you with a letter outiinirig additional services requested by Govind Nadkarni for sCoping and estimating services for two neighborhood areas. The areas are • CrestmontSubdivisions • Area bounded by Everhart, Gollihar, Airline, and McArdle That letter included a request for en additional fee of 530,000 for this additional work. Today Mr. Nadrami requested that we include a third area; the Hilicrest neighborhood bounded by Floral St., West Broadway, Pdrt Ave., and' IH-37. These areas are in steed of rewnstruction of curb and gutter, sidewalks, pavement rehabilitation, and ADA improvements. We propose to provide estimates for this work. At this point we are not anticipating ariy utility work will be required other than manhole and valve adjustments. We'will look at opportunities for additional storm water system improvements With the addition of this third area, we are requesting a total additional fee of 540,000 to perform the work or1 these three areas. SCOPE OF SERVICES A. Basic Services. Basic Services for Amendment No. 2 will include the following: 1. Scoping Phase (Authorized) Prepare preliminary scoping, area maps and opinions of probable costs for the following neighborhood clusters. - Crestmont Subdivisions - Area bounded by Everhart, Gollihar, Airline and McArdle - Hillcrest Neighborhood bounded by Floral Street, West Broadway, Port Avenue and IH-37 2. Field-verify existing site conditions. 3. Review previously developed sketches, designs and/or engineering reports provided by City. 4. Review infrastructure lifecycle criteria and Master plans. a. Evaluate existing street conditions based on field observation and City provided information. b. Evaluate existing Utilities condition based on field observation and City provided information. Project Assumptions: 1. City will provide utility base maps in electronic format, traffic projections, and unit prices to be used for development of the preliminary opinion of probable construction costs. 2. No topographic or boundary survey will be provided by the Consultant for this project. 3. No geotechnical survey services will be provided by Consultant for this project. The City staff will: a. Designate an individual to have responsibility, authority, and control for coordinating activities for the project. b. SCHEDULE A/E will provide Basic Services in accordance with mutually agreeable schedule. 3. FEES A. Fee for Basic Services. The City will pay the A/E a fixed fee for providing for all "Basic Services" authorized as per the table below. The fees for Basic Services will not exceed those identified and will be full and total compensation for all services outlined in Section I.A.1-4 above, and for all expenses incurred in performing these services. For services provided in Section I.A.1-4, A/E will submit monthly statements for basic services rendered. In Section I.A.1-3, the statement will be based upon A/E's estimate (and City concurrence) of the proportion of the total services actually completed at the time of billing. For services provided in Section I.A.4, the statement will be based upon the percent of completion of the construction contract. City will make prompt monthly payments in response to A/E's monthly statements. B. Fee for Additional Services. For services authorized by the Director of Engineering Services under Section I.B.
