ADDITIONAL SERVICES, shall be modified to include ITEM NO.8 ALTERNATE ACCESS ROADWAY FROM CORONA DRIVE TO THE ISLAND GATE CENTER for the preparation of plans for an alternate access roadway from Corona Drive to the (stand Gate Plaza Center (Best Buy, Michael's, Bed Bath and Beyond, etc.}. The Summary of Fees is amended as specified in Exhibit "B", attached. All other terms and conditions of the August 30, 2005 contract between the City and Engineer, and of any amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and effect. Box 9277 Corpus Christi, TX 78469 Re: Alternate Access Corridors City Project No. 62$4 Dear Mr, Stowers; During our meeting of May 20, Mr.. angel Escobar requested that HDR prepare a scope. of services .and fee proposal for the preparation ofplans for an alternate access roadway from Corona. Dr. to the Island Gate Plaza Center (Best Buy, Michael's, Bed Bath and Beyond, Etc.} as recommended~in HDR's Letter Report dated March 2006., . HDR is pleased to assist the City with this project. It is.our understanding this work will be_construc#ed as a change order to another City contract. Given~this approach,' our fee proposal is based on the following assumptions • A plan/profile sheet, and traffic control plan will be included • A foundation detail for the relocation of the dumpster will be included (The site to be determined. by the property owner).. • A detail for the reconstruction of the water valve vaults to meet traffic loadings or. relocation to outside the travel way will be included • Details for the relocation of the security fencing will be included. • No specifications will be required. The specifications, of the host contract will be used: • No standard details. will be required. The standard details of the host contract will be used. • No bid or construction phase services are included. • One coordination meeting ,for relocation of the power poles is included. We propose that this work be authorized as an amendment to our current contract. Our fee proposal far this work totals $'12,450.00. Several points of clarification are needed.for the design. These were provided during a meeting held on-June 4, 2008 in `Angel Escobar's office. • Our fetter report recommended a 30' wide acquisition. This was. intended to accommodate a 22' roadway and.a 5' tied sidewalk. The access roadway to Moore Plana was constructed.as a 28' B-B roadway. DOES THE CITY DESIRE A 28' B-B AT THIS LOCATION ALSO? 1f so, a wider acquisition will lie required. Answer. Provide, a driveway 24'or greater but avoid >!re hydrant, curb inlet and light standard. Additional R.O.W. to the -east may need to be acquired. • Our report~envisioned using the existing driveway-off Corona. DOES THE CITY WANT TO REMOVE THiS DRIVEWAY AND MAKE THIS IAN INTERSECTION? Answer.• Remove.the driveway and make. this an ' intersection.- . • The report envisioned asphalt pavement. On the Moore Plaza access, the city requested concrete pavement. WHICH PAVEMENT MATERIAL DOES THE CITY WANT? Answer.• Concrete . ~• ~ The project will involve relocation.of a dumpster that appears to be used to dispose of scrap auto body parts. The dumpster is on a concrete slab and lias some type of shredding mechanism attached. This shredding mechanism does . not appear to be operational. The property owner (or tenant) will need to .provide direction as to where this is to' be relocated as well as the need for Hi1R Engineering, lnc. AMEND.
