The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and URBAN ENGINEERING, hereinafter called

total restated fee not to exceed 52.459.724.A5 (Two Million Four Hundred Fifty Nine Thousand Seven
Hundred Twenty Four Dollars and Five Cents).
All other terms and conditions of the January 20, 1998 contract and amendments between the City and
Consultant will remain in full force and effect.

Dear Pete:
We are pleased to submit to you a proposal to provide engineering services for the
design and construction of the rehabiktalion of the manhole in Kostloryz Rd south of SPID. This
project will involve rehabilitating the existing sanitary sewer brick manhole due condition and
settlement issues.
The engineering services will inducts investigating the existing conditions, preparing
plans and spedfrcations in the Cily forniat, review meetings with City staff, assist the City in
obtaininglnegotiating coast for ttte additional work to be inducted by change order and providing
the construction administration. Services wiA also inducts coordinating fine locates of existing
utilities in the Staples St. intersection and preparing a traffic c~rrtrd plan. The services also
include time for investigating issues with the 1-lome Rd. manhole and Laguna Shores force
main.
We propose th pertotm the above services for a fee not to exceed $8,240. A breakdown
of proposed services is attached. ff the above is acEeptable, please prepare an AE Contract for
signatures. Should you have any questions please let me know.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part-time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, asself-employed
person, partnership, corporation, joint stock company, joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non-profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
Judges of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
f. "Ownership Interest." Legal or equitable interest, whether actually or constructively held,
in a firm, including when such interest is held through an agent, trust, estate, or holding
entity. "Constructively held" refers to holdings or control established through voting trusts,
proxies, or special terms of venture or partnership agreements."
g. "Consultant." Any person or firm, such as engineers and architects, hired by the City of
Corpus Christi for the purpose of professional consultation and recommendation.
