CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING AND CONSULTING SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called "City" and HDR En ineerin lnc. hereinafter called "Engineer",
agree to the amend the Contract for Engineering Services far Airline Road from Saratoga Blvd. to Rodd Field
Road as previously authorized and amended by:

Amendment No. 1 July 28, 2009 Administrative Approval $4,387.40
Amendment No. 2 Janua 22, 2010 Administrative Ap royal $40,294.40
The following paragraphs describe Amendment No. 3. The headings and outline designations refer to those
from the original contract; amended sections retain the same number and letter designation; new sections
append the sequencing of the original contract.
EXHIBIT "A-1 ", BASIC SERVICES, IL DESIGN shall be modified to include the following
E) Provide a generic TCP plan far three phase full closure (up to five plan sheets) using schematic line
work indicating roadways, and using typical signage layouts at the side street closures, having sufficient
detail far Contractor to bid and implementation. [nclude these traffic control plans as Base Bid 2 to the
project, inserted at the end of the construction plan set. Construction documents, including proposal
form, notice to bidder, and special provisions will be revised accordingly.
EXHIBIT "A-1", ADDITIONAL SERVICES, 5URVEY shall be modifiied to include the following:
J) Perform additional right-of-way and topographic survey for approximately 300 linear feet of roadway
at Lipes and prepare individual sealed and signed parcel map and legal description for temporary
construction easement.
EXHIBIT "A"PART 3. FEES shall be modified as attached.
All other terms and conditions of the March 31, 2009 contract, as amended, between the City and the Engineer
will remain in full force and effect.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
"Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part-time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self-employed
person, partnership, corporation, joint stock company, joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non-profit organizations.
"Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
Judges of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
f. "Ownership Interest." Legal or equitable interest, whether actually or constructively held,
in a firm, including when such interest is held through an agent, trust, estate, or holding
entity. "Constructively held" refers to holdings or control established through voting trusts,
proxies, or special terms of venture or partnership agreements."
g. "Consultant." Any person or firm, such as engineers and architects, hired by the City of
Corpus Christi for the purpose of professional consultation and recommendation.
