Corpus Christi, Texas 784x1 RE: OSO WRP PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS BELT FILTER PRESS BLDG. REPLACEMENT (PROJECT NO. 7423) Man-hourslCost Breakdown for Amendment No.2 to the contract. Dear Mr. Anaya: On May 11, 2010, Contract Documents, and 100% completed Plans and Specifications for the above mentioned projects were submitted to the City. A review meeting far the project was held at Wastewater Department an May 17, 2010. At the meeting it was brought to our attention that as the new TCEQ issued permit far Oso WVVf P will require Nitrates removal, the treatment plant will be generating more sludge and as such four 2-meter belt filter presses will be required to process the sludge. The Design Memorandum for the project was completed and submitted on September 15, 2009. It included calculations showing amount of sludge which would be generated from Oso WWTP once the plant reached its design capacity of 16.2 MGD Average Design Flow. At the time it was recommended that the sludge processing building should be designed with four 2-meter belt fitter presses. During the design phase, when it was determined that the sludge processing building would cost over $ 5.OM, it was decided by the City that instead of providing 4 filter presses, B. Harman Engineering should proceed with design of Belt Filter Press Building with 3 2-meter belt filter presses to minimize the cost. As the Plans and Specifiications were completed and submitted for 100% review, redesigning the sludge processing building will require resizing the building, new architectural layouts, structural, electrical and mechanical design for the new building and for the pump station. The drawings for plant site utilities and pavement design will remain the same and will not require any modifications AMD. NO.2 . Site Electrical design will change as the source of power may change because of added pump, belt filter press and winch. The total amount for the Amendment No. 2 of contract is $71,701 A0, With this amendment to the contract, we are requesting that the completion schedule of the project be revised as shown below. As considerable #ime has been lost and as the design of new Beit Filter Press building will require an additional two months, the final submittal date for the Plans and Specifications has been changed to January 17, 2010.
