TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, hereinafter called "CITY" and HDR ENGINEERING. INC. hereinafter called "CONSULTANT ",
agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for Traffic_ Signals (New and
Synchronization) Project No. 6488 as authorized and amended by:

In the original contract, PART 1. SCOPE OF PROJECT shall be amended to include the following scope for the design of
Saratoga Boulevard at Patti Drive Intersection Si nil.
■ EXHIBIT "A ", PART 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, SECTION A. BASIC SERVICES, shall be amended as shown below
and more fully set forth in the attached Amendment No_ 2 Exhibit "A ":
➢ ITEM NO.2 DESIGN PHASE shall be amended to include Design Phase services for the additional intersection.
■ EXHIBIT "A ", PART 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, SECTION B. ADDITIONAL SERVICES, shall be amended as shown
below and more fully set forth in the attached Amendment No. 2 Exhibit "A ":
➢ ADD: ITEM NO. 5 TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY shall be added to include Topographic'Survey services for the
additional intersection.
➢ ADD: ITEM NO. 6 RIGHT -OF-WAY SURVEY shall be added to include Right -of -Way Survey services for the
additional intersection.
■ EXHIBIT "A ", PART 2. SCHEDULE shall be amended, to include the project schedule as shown on the attached
Amendment No. 2 Exhibit "A"
■ EXHIBIT "A ", PART 3. FEES shall be modified as shown on the attached Amendment No. 2 Exhibit "A° for a revised
fee not to exceed $42,300,00 (Forty Two Thousand Three Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents) for a total restated
fee not to exceed $197,300.00 (One Hundred Ninety Seven Thousand Three Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents)
All other terms and conditions of the May 25, 2010 contract, as amended, between the City and Consultant will remain in
full force and effect.

TRAFFIC SIGNALS — SARATOGA BLVD (SH357) AT PATTI DRIVE
PROJECT NO. 6488
1. SCOPE OF SERVICES
A. Basic Services.
Basic Services will include the following in addition to those items shown on Exhibit "A -1"
Task List.
1. Preliminary Phase. NO PRELIMINARY PHASE SERVICES ARE INCLUDED IN THIS
CONTRACT
2. Design Phase. The AIE will:
a. Prepare one set of document in accordance with TXDOT requirements
b. Provide one (1) set of the pre-final ( 100%) plans (unsealed and unstamped — electronic
and full -size hard copies) for City and TXDOT review
c. Attend a Design Review Workshop (DRW). The AIE will compile the list of response and
solutions agreed to at the DRW. The list will be emailed back to City staff within seven
days following the DRW for distribution. Provide one hard copy and one electronic copy of
the pre -final plans and bid documents to the City staff for review and approval purposes
with revised opinions of probable costs.
d. Upon approval by the Director of Engineering Services, provide one (1) set of the final
documents (electronic and full -size hard copies) suitable for reproduction.
3. Bid Phase. NO BID PHASE SERVICES ARE INCLUDED IN THIS CONTRACT
4. Construction Phase. NO CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES ARE INCLUDED IN THIS
CONTRACT
B. Additional Services
1. Topographic Survey — The AIE will conduct and prepare the necessary topographic surveys of
the intersection area as necessary for the preparation of plans.
2. Right of Way Survey — The AIE will prepare parcel maps and legal descriptions for the
acquisition of additional rights of way necessary for the signal installation. It is anticipated that
2 parcels will need to be acquired.

3. FEES
A. Fee for Basic Services. The City will pay the A/E a fixed fee for providing for all "Basic Services"
authorized as per the table below. The fees for Basic Services will not exceed those identified
and will be full and total compensation for all services outlined in Section I.A. 1-4 above, and for all
expenses incurred in performing these services. The fee for this project is subject to the
availability of funds. The Engineer may be directed to suspend work pending receipt and
appropriation of funds. For services provided in Section I.A.1 -4, A/E will submit monthly
statements for basic services rendered. In Section I.A.1 -3, the statement will be based upon AIE's
estimate (and City Concurrence) of the proportion of the total services actually completed at the
time of billing. For services provided in Section I.A.4, the statement will be based upon the
percent of completion of the construction contract. City will make prompt monthly payments in
response to AIE's monthly statements.
B. Fee for Additional Services. For services authorized by the Director of Engineering Services
under Section I.B. "Additional Services" the City will pay the A/E a not -to- exceed fee as per the
table below:

CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS
TRAFFIC SIGNALS — SARATOGA BLVD. (SH357) AT PATTI DRIVE
PROJECT NO. 6488
This intersection is currently not signalized. Signal plans will be prepared install a Mast Arm.
Saratoga Blvd. is currently under construction by TXDOT. The City and /or TXDOT will provide
electronic files of the construction plans for the area of the intersection. This package will be bid by
TXDOT.
BASIC SERVICES:
Design Phase
1. Meet with the City of Corpus Christi (City), Texas Department of Transportation ( TXDOT) and
project team to obtain necessary information, confirm scope of work, review design requirements
and establish project schedule. One meeting has been assumed for budget purposes.
2. Provide City/TxDOT updates on project progress. Updates will be provided by email and
telephone as needed.
3. Coordinate with the City of Corpus Christi and for TXDOT to obtain electronic plans for the
intersection of Saratoga Blvd. (SH357) at Patti Dr. This proposal assumes electronic files
reflecting the proposed intersection layout are available and will be provided to HDR (by TXDO
in DGN format. HDR will supplement the information shown on these drawing with a topographic
survey as listed in Exhibit A Additional Services.
4. Conduct a field review of the intersection to note and verify physical constraints, power
connection, utility placement, and any other details necessary for signal plan preparation.
5. The signal system will be designed to include pedestrian elements that meet ADA requirements
including audible signals. Modifications to the sidewalks, pavement, or accessibility ramps are
contemplated only to the extent of installing a pedestrian crossing of Saratoga Blvd. TXDOT will
be responsible for obtaining TDLR approvals and clearances for the ADA improvements.
6. Prepare a draft set of plans, technical specifications, quantity estimates, and opinion of probable
costs for the intersection of. Saratoga Blvd. (SH357) at Patti Dr. The signal construction at this
intersection will be bid by TXDOT. Therefore, P. S. & E. documents normally required of TXDOT
will be provided.
7. Submit draft sets of plans, technical specifications, quantity estimates and opinion of probable
cost to City and TxDOT for review. This proposal assumes that there will be only two
submissions: 90% submittal which would include the complete plan set for City of Corpus Christi
and TxDOT review and 100% submittal which would include the final plan sets addressing all City
and TxDOT comments.
8. Meet with City and TxDOT to review 90% submittal comments. One meeting has been assumed
for budget purposes.
9. Prepare final sets of plans, technical specifications, quantity estimates and opinion of probable
costs which incorporates all previous comments, and submit to the City and TxDOT.
Bid documents and construction services will NOT be provided for the intersection of Weber Road
and Tiger Lane as the signal will be bid and let for construction by TxDOT.

a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part-time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
