TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY ", and MAVERICK ENGINEERING hereinafter
called "CONSULTANT," agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for
Improvements Group 2 (BOND 2008) (Project No. E09051), as authorized and amended by:

In the original contract, Section II, SCOPE OF SERVICES shall be amended to provide additional
services through five additional tasks to include completing a topographical survey of the existing bus
stops, sidewalks, and ADA ramps on Staples from Leopard to Lipan, as well as other services as shown
in the attached Exhibit "A,"
■ In the original contract, Section IV. FEES shall be modified as shown on the attached Exhibit "A" for a
revised fee not to exceed $42,914.00 (Forty-Two Thousand Nine Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Zero
Cents), for a total restated fee not to exceed .$396,522.00 (Three Hundred Ninety -Six Thousand Five
Hundred Twenty -Two Dollars and Zero Cents)
All other terms and conditions of the contract and amendments between the City and Consultantwill remain in
full force and effect.

Dear Ms. Pyle;
Maverick Engineering, Inc. is pleased to submit our fee proposal for providing additional services for the
Survey and Design of ADA Improvements (Project No. E09051). The additional scope of services and
corresponding fees are shown below:
Scope of Services:
1. Complete a topographical survey of the existing bus stops, sidewalks, and ADA ramps on
Staples from Leopard to Lipan, including striping.
2. Modify construction drawings to include:
a. The proposed pedestrian signals and crosswalks at:
i. Leopard and Staples
ii. Lipan and Staples
iii. Medina and Staples (RTA Transfer Station)
b. A proposed bus stop at Ram Rankin and Leopard (inbound)
c. A proposed bus stop at Mexico and Leopard (outbound)
3. Modify contract documents for the proposed ADA improvements listed above as items 2a-c.
4. Provide the hardscape architectural design for the bus stops listed above as items 2b and 2c.
5. Provide pedestrian crossing signals including synchronization with traffic signals listed above
as item 2a.
Our fee is as follows:
Task 1— $4,560.00
Task 2 — $1,915.00
Task 3 — $1,294.00
Task 4 - $ 8,525.00
Task 5 - $26,620.00
The Total Proposed Fee for Amendment No.1 is: $42,914.00

The schedule for the tasks listed above for Amendment No.l will be determined after execution of the
amendment. This time includes a. review by the City of Corpus Christi and any necessary revisions.

FILING REQUIREMENTS
If a person who requests official action on a matter knows that the requested action will confer an
economic benefit on any City official or employee that is distinguishable from the effect that the
action will have on members of the public in general or a substantial segment thereof, you shall
disclose that fact in a signed writing to the City official employee or body that has been

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit ". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
"Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part -time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self - employed
person, partnership, corporation, joint stock company, joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non - profit organizations.
"Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
Judges of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
f. "Ownership Interest." Legal or equitable interest, whether actually or constructively held,
in a firm, including when such interest is held through an agent, trust, estate, or holding
entity. "Constructively held" refers to holdings or control established through voting trusts,
proxies, or special terms of venture or partnership agreements."
g. "Consultant." Any person or firm, such as engineers and architects, hired by the City of
Corpus Christi for the purpose of professional consultation and recommendation.
