AMENDMENT NO. 4
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "City ", and ARCADIS U. S., INC. hereinafter called
"Engineer", agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Engineering Services for McBride Lift
Station and Force Main Project No. 7287), as authorized and administratively amended by:

EXHIBIT "A" OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT, SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, PART A. BASIC
SERVICES, shall be modified as follows and as shown on the attached Amendment No. 4 Exhibit "A ":
2. DESIGN PHASE
1. Prepare the 100% Plans and Specifications and Estimate package for rebid. Changes
to design of the system are not included in this amendment. Non - significant changes
to address City Staff comments will be addressed and included in this Scope of Work.
2. Obtain utility crossing TXDOT permit (Notice of Proposed Installation)
3. Revise and submit the Construction Cost Estimate.
The deliverable for this amendment will consist of one set of updated full size (24" X
36 ") force main plans sheets. Only sheets that were revised will be submitted. One set of
bid documents with specifications and the revised construction estimate for the force
main work only. City will provide bid dates to update the bid documents before the
signed and sealed PS &E package is submitted.
EXHIBIT "A" OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT, SECTION 2. SCHEDULE, shall be modified as follows
and as shown on the attached Amendment No. 4 Exhibit "K.
3. BID PHASE
1. Assist the City in solicitation of bids by identification of prospective bidders, and
review of bids by solicited interests.
2. Attend pre -bid conference and review all pre -bid questions and submissions
concerning the bid documents and prepare, in the City's format, for the Engineering
Services approval, any addenda or other revisions necessary to inform contractors of
approved changes prior to bidding.
3. Attend bid opening, analyze bids, evaluate, prepare bid tabulation, and make
recommendation concerning award of the contract.
4. In the event the lowest responsible bidder bid exceeds the project budget phase
estimate require above as revised by the Engineering Services in accordance with the
A/E's design phase estimate required above, the Engineer will, at its expense, confer
with City staff and make such revisions to the bid documents as the City staff deems
necessary to re- advertise that particular portion of the Project for bids.

EXHIBIT "A" OF THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT, SECTION 3. FEES, PART C. SUMMARY OF FEES, shall
be modified as specified in Amendment No. 4 Exhibit "A" for a revised fee not to exceed $26,146.00
(Twenty -Five Thousand One Hundred Forty-Six Dollars and Zero Cents) for a total restated fee not to
exceed 1361,626.00 (Three Hundred Sixty -One Thousand _Six Hundred Twenty -Six Dallars and Zero

All other terms and conditions of the November 11, 2003 contract between the City and Engineer, and of
any amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and
effect.

ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Project Description
The Force Main PS &E package was submitted and bids were received and rejected by the City
of Corpus Christi. The purpose of this Amendment No. 4 is to provide a scope of work and tasks
for ARCADIS to develop 100% Plans, Specifications, and Estimate package to rebid the Force
Main work only.
The completion of the 100% Plans, Specifications, and Estimate for the McBride Lift Station is
not part of this amendment. A separate amendment will be developed at a later date upon notice
by the City of Corpus Christi.
Scope of Work and tasks:
Consultant will perform the following BASIC SERVICES tasks.
A. PRELIMINARY PHASE: NOT APPLICABLE, 100% COMPLETED
B. DESIGN PHASE

DEFINITIONS
a. `Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit ". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
"Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part-time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self- employed
person, partnership, corporation, joint stock company, joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non - profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
