TO CONTRACT FOR
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY ", and MAVERICK ENGINEERING INC.
hereinafter called "CONSULTANT', agree to the following amendment to the Contract for
Professional Services for Additional Hydro Excavation Work Up River Road — Rand Morgan To
I.H. 37 (Project No. 6496) as authorized and administratively amended by:
Original Large AIE Contract I April 23, 2009 Administrative Approval $599,56100
➢ In the original contract, Section 2. SCOPE OF WORK shall be modified by the addition of the
following scope: Scope of Work is revised to include additional Hydro Excavation Surve
Services as specified in Exhibit "A ".
➢ Summary of Fees is amended as described in the attached Exhibit "B" revised fee not to exceed
$14,800.00 (Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents) for a total restated
fee not to exceed 614 363.00 Six Hundred Fourteen Thousand Three Hundred Sixty-
Three Dollars and Zero Cents)
All other terms and conditions of the Contract and Amendments between the City and Consultant
will remain in full force and effect.

Dear Mr. Gutierrez:
As per the City's direction, Maverick Engineering, Inc, ordered 26 bores for the hydra excavation of
Segment 1 of the Up River Road Project. An Allowance of $32,000leas set aside for the hydro
excavation however the actual cost for the work is $46,800. We are requesting that the City amend
our contract by $14,800 to make up the difference. A copy of the invoice from T-REX is attached for
your reference. If you have any questions regarding this proposal, please feel free to contact meat (361)

FILING REQUIREMENTS

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the City
Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to have an
effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public in general or a
substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or part-
time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or commercial, and
whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including but not limited to, entities
operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self - employed person, partnership, corporation, joint
stock company, joint venture, receivership or trust, and entities which for purposes of taxation are
treated as non - profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City Manager,
Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court Judges of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas.
£ "Ownership Interest." Legal or equitable interest, whether actually or constructively held, in a
firm, including when such interest is held through an agent, trust, estate, or holding entity.
"Constructively held" refers to holdings or control established through voting trusts, proxies, or
special terms of venture or partnership agreements."
g. "Consultant." Any person or firm, such as engineers and architects, hired by the City of Corpus
Christi for the purpose of professional consultation and recommendation.
