E09007) Dear Mr. Anaya: In response to City request, we are proposing the following small AIE amendment to the above referenced contract for additional services associated with the Step Feed Pilot Study as described in detail in previous technical memoranda affiliated with this project. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called "City", and LNV, Inc. hereinafter called "Engineer ", agree to the following Contract for Additional Services associated with the above referenced task. This effort includes the development, design, methodology., process modeling, installation, and operation of the step feed pilot facility. These services were requested by the Operating Department. The step feed process involves diverting a portion of the plants screened influent further upstream in the aeration process at the Re- aeration basins. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The Scope of Services for this contract shall be amended to include additional task 11 which is described in detail below. B. ADDITIONAL SERVICES 11. Step Feed Pilot Study i) Consultant will evaluate step feed pilot alternatives to determine the most cost effective method and pilot set -up for evaluating the potential benefits of the step feed modification to the existing contact stabilization process. iiy Perform the necessary dynamic biological process modeling using BioWin software to predict the effects and impacts of the step feed process on the existing plant. The purpose is to determine whether the existing plant's AMD. NO.1 EXHIBIT "A" Page 1 of 3 contact stabilization process could be modified to maximize its ability to biologically and cost effectively remove ammonia iii) Develop the pilot study scope of construction services, identify the diversion (suction /discharge) locations, determine the most ideal diversion rates and design of the temporary pilot facility including piping, pumps, electrical requirements, sampling needs, and coordination efforts with plant personnel. iv) Install and construct the temporary pilot facility consisting of pumps, piping, and electrical improvements. v) Provide operation personnel for the pilot facility for up to 42 days at 2 hours per day. These tasks will include observing the facility to ensure that it is operating as intended, coordinating the operation with plant personnel, and monitoring a number of process parameters including temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO). SCHEDULE: All work under this contract shall be completed by the Engineer by March 31, 2012. FEES: A. Fee for Additional Services Authorized. The City will pay the Engineer a lump sum fee not to exceed $ 49,600 for provided services specified in this contract. The fee will be full and total compensation for services and for all expenses incurred in performing these services. Engineer will submit monthly statements for basic services rendered. Each statement will be based on the project percent completion at the time of billing. City will make prompt monthly payments in response to Engineer's monthly statements. B. Summary of fees.
