INDEXED" RE: Amendment No. 6 - lnti'.eld 'Faxiway Connector /Runway 17 -35 Project - Revised Fee... From: Bob Jutton P.E. [mailto:bjutton @ksaeng.com] Sent: Friday, February 03, 2012 10:55 AM To: Victor Gonzalez Subject: Amendment No. 6 - Infield Taxiway Connector/Runway 17 -35 Project - Revised Fee Proposal Victor, Attached is proposed Amendment No. 6 representing the proposed fees to design an additional 90° taxiway connector to Runway 17 -35. Per your request, we were able to combine some tasks and lower our proposed fees from $42,000 to $40,000 representing a reduction of roughly 5 %. When we estimate design fees, we look at manpower and material requirements to prepare drawings that we anticipate will be required to accomplish the work. We feel that although the original $42,000 fee may have appeared high, it is actually very reasonable and representative of the work required. When this taxiway connector was added (in the last week or so), the proposed taxiway connector to the north and the proposed taxiway connector to the south were additionally moved. We also moved the location of the connector taxiway off the terminal apron. Now, we're having to re- design the work we had done on these other three taxiway connectors, because they moved. The proposed $42,000 fee included some of this re- design work. However, because you asked us to take re- examine our proposal, we combined some of the design tasks and were able to lower the total proposed fee slightly. It is a pleasure working with the airport staff at CCIA and we appreciate the su pport that you've given us. This has enabled us to work more efficiently and effectively which ultimately translates into fee savings for the Airport. The attached completed Amendment No. 6 describes the project scope, services, schedule and proposed fees. Thanks. Bob Robert C.
