AMENDMENT NO. 2
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "City ", and MAVERICK ENGINEERING, INC. hereinafter
called "Engineer", agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Engineering Services for Up River
Road - Rand Mor an to IH 37 Project No. 6496 , as authorized and administratively amended by:

In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A ", Section 1. Scope of Services, Part B. Additional Services shall be
amended to include Item No. 4 Environmental Issues as set forth in the attached Amendment No. 2, Exhibit
"
In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A ", Section 3. Fees, Part C. Summary of Fees shall be modified and is
attached as Amend No. 2 Exhibit "B" for a fee not to exceed $7,370.00 (Seven Thousand Three Hundred
Seventy Dollars and Zero Cents) for a total restated fee not to exceed $621,733.00 (Six Hundred Twenty
One Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty Three Dollars and Zero Cents) Monthly invoices will be submitted
in accordance with Exhibit "C ".
All other terms and conditions of the April 21, 2009 contract between the City and Engineer, and of any
amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and effect.

Dear Ms. Francois:
As per the City's direction, Maverick Engineering, Inc, is preparing the construction drawings,
construction documents and specifications for the soil renaediation ►work along Up River Road between
stations 32 +50 and 58 +50 in Segment 1. The scope of wort; for the additional services are as described
below.
Scope.of Work
1. Prepare cover letter and contract documents including, disclosure of interest, payment bond,
proposal foran, labor wage rates, front end documents.
2. Prepare construction drawings for area of %vork.
3. Prepare specifications for work.
4. Attend pre - construction meeting with City and contractor prior to beginning work.
The services described alcove will be performed for a total fee of $7,370.00. The work is expected to
be completed within two weeks after receiving notice to proceed from the City.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit ". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part -time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self - employed
person, partnership, corporation, joint stock company, joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non -profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
Judges of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
f. "Ownership Interest." Legal or equitable interest, whether actually or constructively held,
in a firm, including when such interest is held through an agent, trust, estate, or holding
entity. "Constructively held" refers to holdings or control established through voting trusts,
proxies, or special terms of venture or partnership agreements."
g. "Consultant." Any person or firm, such as engineers and architects, hired by the City of
Corpus Christi for the purpose of professional consultation and recommendation.
