Director of Engineering Services City of Corpus Christi P.O. Box 9277 Corpus Christi, Texas 78169 Subject: Park Road 22 Bride Pro ect No. 6281 — Contract Amendment No. 1 Dear Mr. Biles: Pursuant to request from the City we are proposing an Amendment No. 1 to our contract to provide additional services and deduct some services that are no longer needed. As the project has progressed, the USAGE has modified their requirements for permitting and the permit holder for the property outside the PR 22 ROW has taken on the obligation of modifying his permit. Therefore, there is a reduction of $92,120 from the USAGE Permit Preparation fine item. TXDOT has instituted a new tracking system called ECHOS that requires the submission of scoping documents that define the project by projecting needs and timelines. Our sub - consultant, Raba Kistner, will be providing these services. This will increase the TXDOT CE line item by $2,725. Also, as we progressed through the preliminary design process, it was decided that it was in the best interest of the city to construct a larger sanitary sewer lift station and longer force main than originally planned. The original scoping of the project called for a small lift station that would pump under the proposed canal and discharge on the other side into the existing gravity line on PR 22. A more thorough study of the situation showed benefits to building a larger and deeper lift station that could serve proposed development on the existing Padre Isles Golf Course that could not be served by existing systems. It would also allow for the consolidation of other master plan lift stations in the Lake Padre area. This increased the fee for Basic Services by $131,000 and the Topographic Survey by $8,200. The increased scope and fee for the lift station is due to additional service area study, increased size, depth and constructability of the lift station, increased forcemain length from approximately 600 If to 2,680 If and additional topographic survey work. The proposed change in scope and fee is based on the assumption that the force main will be placed through the golf course property. If the alignment reverts to the alternate route along PR 22 and Whitecap Blvd, the scope and fee will be more than proposed in this amendment, (3131)854 -3101 2725 SWANTNER DR..
