BETWEEN THE CORPUS CHRIST[ BUSINESS AND JOB DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
AND TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY—CORPUS CHRISTI FOR AN INTERN PROGRAM TO
SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES
This First Amendment to the Small Business Incentives Agreement for ("Amendment") is
entered into between the Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation
("Corporation") and Texas A & M University -- Corpus Christi, a Texas institution of higher
education ("TAMU-CC").
WHEREAS, the Corporation and TAMU-CC entered into that certain Small Business Incentives
Agreement between the Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation and TAMU-
CC for an Intern Program to support small businesses, dated August 21, 2012 ("Agreement");
WHEREAS, TAMU-CC has requested an additional ,$35,060.00 for the Intern Program to
support small businesses;
WHEREAS, the Corporation agrees that it is in the best interests of the residents of the City of
Corpus Christi to provide the additional funding requested by TAMU-CC;
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the covenants, promises, and conditions stated in this
Amendment, the Corporation and TAMU-CC agree as follows:
1. The effective date of this Amendment is the latest date that either party executes this
Amendment.
2. Section 3 of the Agreement is hereby amended by amending subsection a to read as
follows:
a. The Corporation will grant TAMU-CC an incentive of up to Two Hundred Twenty Five
Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Five Dollars ($225,695.00), which must be used to fund
one half of the salary of up to a total of 105 interns during the Fall Semester of 2012,
Spring Semester of 2013, and Summer Session in 2013, and the entire salary of an
intern hired to help administer the program during the Fall and Spring Semesters and
Summer Session. The interns will be paid twice the minimum wage, while participating
in TAMU-CC's Small Business Employer Intern Program.
3. This Amendment embodies the entire agreement between the Corporation and TAMU-
CC with respect to the amendment of the Agreement. In the event of any conflict or
inconsistency between the provisions of this Amendment and the Agreement, the provisions of
this Amendment shall control.
4. Except as specifically modified and amended herein, all other terms, provisions,
requirements, and specifications contained in the Agreement shall remain in full force and
effect.
5. This Amendment shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
