Green, Amendment No.5 to the above referenced contract is necessary due to the increased level of effort required to field verify and correct discrepancies in the GIS maps and establish lift station control elevations. The attached letter from Coym,Rehmet&Gutierrez,L.P.with input from LNV, Inc. summarize the request and costs. Amendment No.5 totals$48,990 for the Phase 1 service areas(Oso, Greenwood, and Broadway). Based on conversations with CRG and LNV we anticipate additional effort will also be required for the Phase 2 service areas to field verify GIS discrepancies. The major tasks included in the city-wide project scope for this Amendment No.5,Phase 1 —Task 12 are: • Identify areas of concern and possible inaccurate pipe diameter designations with the GIS shapefiles • Field verify discrepancies at multiple locations with the Phase I service areas • Identify areas of concern and possible inaccurate manhole invert elevations within GIS shapefiles • Field verify manhole invert elevation discrepancies(such as negative slopes)and update GIS where needed • Coordinate lift station control settings to locate and minimize surcharging conditions The total amount of this Amendment is $48,990 as shown in the breakdown on Attachment "A". The man hour and fee analysis for this Amendment is shown in Attachment "B". I have also attached the project schedule for the work as shown in Attachment"C". The hydraulic model is critically dependent on the accuracy of maps and physical data associated with each pipeline. During construction of the hydraulic model some GIS data(pipe diameters, invert elevations, lift station control elevations, etc.)appeared to be in error and field verification confirmed some but not all discrepancies. To construct a viable model of the collection system required field verifications for all these discrepancies. This Amendment No.5 provides for a Task 12—Phase I Field Verification. OBJECTIVES This amendment will address the following objectives: • Identify areas of concern and possible inaccurate pipe diameter designations with the GIS shapefiles • Field verify discrepancies at multiple locations with the Phase 1 service areas • Identify areas of concern and possible inaccurate manhole invert elevations within GIS shapefiles • Field verify manhole invert elevation discrepancies(such as negative slopes)and update GIS where needed • Coordinate lift station control settings to locate and minimize surcharging conditions PROJECT PHASING The Phase I Task 12-Field Verification requires immediate implementation. MODEL BENEFITS • Accurate model construction • QA/QC on model attribute data Amend.No.5 Exhibit"A" Page 6 of 14 BASIC SERVICES—NIA ADDITIONAL SERVICES TASK 12—FIELD VERIFICATION The development of a hydraulic model for the six wastewater service areas ensures consistent assessment of future growth, maintenance and system capital requirements for current and future conditions. Furthermore, hydraulic modeling will provide the project team consultants with pertinent data to assess system impacts to various wet weather events and will further enable the project team to test cost effective repair strategies and alternatives. Modeling will allow the team to conduct a series of"what if' scenarios that will help determine least cost solutions. These various scenarios take into account the City of Corpus Christi maintenance and personnel needs, budget, planned growth, capacity issues and can be used to more accurately design relief and/or replacement lines and optimize system rehabilitation. Task 12—Field Verification is required to verify the hydraulic model connectivity and address possible discrepancies in pipe diameters, elevations(pipe slopes),pipe and force main layout, lift station control level elevations, and other GIS discrepancies the must be field verified to confirm accuracy. During the course of the hydraulic model construction several areas of incorrect data were discovered within the GIS shape files provided by the City. Additional efforts are required to identify, field investigate and correct these areas so that the model will reflect the exact existing conditions of the sanitary sewer collection systems. In general the following tasks will be required under this Amendment No. 5, Phase I Task 12—Field Verifications: • Identifying areas of concern and possible inaccurate pipe diameters designations within the existing GIS shapefiles for each of the Phase I service areas. • Field verification of pipe diameter discrepancies within the existing GIS for multiple areas. • Identifying areas of concern and possible inaccurate manhole inverts within the existing GIS shapefiles for each of the Phase I service areas. • Field verification of manhole invert discrepancies within the existing GIS for multiple areas. • Coordination of lift station control settings to locate and minimize surcharging conditions.
