AMENDMENT NO. 1
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and HDR Engineering, Inc. hereinafter
called "ENGINEER," agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for
Corpus Christi Ship Channel Gas Main Crosslna (Protect No. E12130), as authorized and amended
by:

Exhibit "A SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, PART A. BASIC SERVICES shall be amended to
include basic services as shown in the Attached Exhibit "A":
• ITEM NO. 2. Basic Services-- Design Phase— Modification to the USACE permit to include fiber
optic conduit and cable in the permit; Modification of the bid documents to include the fiber optic
cable.
In the original contract, EXHIBIT "A", SUMMARY OF FEES shall be modified and is attached as
Amendment No. 1 Exhibit"A" for a revised fee not to exceed $3,500.00 (Three Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars and Zero Cents), for a total restated fee not to exceed 71 800.00 (Seventy One Thousand
Eight Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents).
All other terms and conditions of April 30, 2013 contract between the City and Engineer will remain in full
force and effect.

Dear Mr. Biles
HDR Engineering submitted the 100%"documents for this project to the City on July 8,2013. The USACE
permit approval was received on July 112.,"Review comments were received on July 22. During the project
review meeting held on July 23, the City's MIS Department requested the addition of a 2 inch conduit for
the installation of fiber optic cable to the,project scope.The City requested that HDR add this conduit to
' the project.
This addition will require additional effort by HDR'to include
• Seeking a modification to the USACE permit to include the fiber-optic conduit and cable in the
Permit
Modification of the bid documents to include the fiber optic cable including the
o Plans
o Specifications
o Proposal '
o Opinion of Probable Cost '
This addition will also require a modification to the utility easement granted by the Port Corpus Christi
Authority to include the fiber optic conduit and cable. City staff will pursue this modification.
t HDR requests an amendment to our Contract for Professional Services in the amount of$3,500 as
compensation for these changes. "
The delay in the construction of this project will work well and satisfy the concerns of the Museum of
Science and History that has a number of major events scheduled for September, October and November ,
that will be utilizing the parking lot that we have designated.;as the drill entry staging area.
