AMENDMENT NO. 1
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called "CITY," and Martinez, Guy & Maybik, Inc.,
hereinafter called "ENGINEER," agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional
Services for Hike and Bike Trail Development (Bond 2012) (Project No. E12116) as authorized
and administratively amended by:
Original Contract March 26, 2013 Motion No. M2013-056 $185,540.00
EXHIBIT A, SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, PART A. BASIC SERVICES shall be modified as
shown below.
2. Design Phase: "ENGINEER" will become Engineer of Record on Schanen Trail Phase 1, and
perform engineering/CAD work related to meeting TxDOT requirements on the Schanen Trail.
3. Construction Administration Phase: "ENGINEER" will provide construction phase services for
Schanen Trail Phase 1.
EXHIBIT A, SECTION 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES, PART B. ADDITIONAL SERVICES shall be
modified as shown below.
3. Topographic Survey: "ENGINEER" will provide surveying as needed to spot check JEC survey
and tie it to our Schanen Phase 2 survey.
4. Environmental Issues: "ENGINEER" will prepare a Categorical Exclusion for the Schanen Trail
(Phase 1 and Phase 2), per TxDOT requirements.
EXHIBIT A, SECTION 3. FEES, PART B. SUMMARY OF FEES shall be modified by the attached
Summary of Fees as shown in the attached Exhibit A for an additional fee not to exceed $35,550.00

The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereafter called "City" and Martinez, Guy. & Maybik. Inc. hereafter
called"Engineer",agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Engineering Services for Hike
&Bike Trail Development(Schanen Trail)(BOND ISSUE 2012)(Protect No.E12116),as authorized by:

as follows:
Additional Scope of Work
Background: The orginal project limits for the Schanen Trail portion of Project No. E12116 were from
Wapentate Drive to Saratoga Boulevard. The City has extended the project limits to include the"Phase 1
Schanen Trail"(City Project No. 3381)from Yorktown Boulevard to Wapentate Drive. Additional TxDOT
funding, provided to the City after the award of the original contract, requires the Engineer to meet
TxDOT Standards and Specifications. TxDOT will have jurisdictional review over the project.
1. Engineer will review and modify Project No. 3381 Plans developed by JEC Architects, Inc. to meet
Texas Department of Transportation requirements, and become the Engineer of Record for the
Schanen Trail from Yorktown Boulevard to Saratoga Boulevard. The City shall provide Engineer with
AutoCAD drawings of Project No.3381,including all design drawings and topographic survey.
2.Engineer will provide coordination efforts with JEC Architects and TxDOT to accomplish item 1 above.
3.Engineer will prepare a Blanket Categorical Exclusion to meet TxDOT environmental requirements.

a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi,Texas either on a full or
part-time basis,but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self-employed
person,partnership,corporation,joint stock company,joint venture,receivership or trust,and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non-profit organizations.
