SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
RELEASE OF LIEN AND CLAIMS
This Agreement is being entered into by and between SHIRLEY JONES HANDLEY, having an
address of 1002 King Arthur, No. 324, Harlingen, Texas, 78550 (hereinafter called"Mrs.
Handley"), and the CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI (hereinafter called "City"), (collectively
referred to as "the Parties").
The purpose of this Agreement is for the full and final settlement of all claims between the
Parties relating to the property listed below, and release and distribution of funds in the amount
of$40,000 (herein after called"Funds") held in escrow by Security Escrow& Title, LLC dba
Security Title, located at 5325 Saratoga, Suite 225, Corpus Christ, TX 78413, pursuant to an
agreement entitled "ESCROW HOLD AGREEMENT," entered into between Mrs. Handley,
City, and Security Escrow & Titled, LLC on 29 November 2011.
City, for and in consideration of the payment of the Funds, the receipt and sufficiency of which
is hereby acknowledged, does hereby release and forever discharge Mrs. Handley, her agents,
employees, successors and assigns, and her respective heirs, personal representatives, affiliates,
successors and assigns, and any and all persons, firms or corporations liable or who might be
claimed to be liable, whether or not herein named, none of whom admit any liability to the
undersigned, but all expressly denying liability, from any and all claims, demands, damages,
actions, causes of action or suits of any kind or nature whatsoever, which City now has or may
hereafter have, arising out of or in any way relating to the following:
All taxes, liens, charges, and improvements relating to the property located at
7002 Pyrenees St., Corpus Christi, TX 78412, and described as Lot One (1),
Block Three (3), RODD VILLAGE, a Subdivision of the City of Corpus Christi,
Nueces County, Texas, as shown by the map or plat thereof recorded in Volume
66, Pages 85-93, Map Records of Nueces County, Texas, including Lien No.
2011007075 filed February 8, 2011, Ordinance 024188, that arose out of previous
assessments made for public improvements relating to the Rodd Field Public
Improvement District inside the City limits.
It is understood and agreed that this payment is made and received in full and complete
settlement and satisfaction the causes of action, claims and demands mentioned herein; that this
Release contains the entire agreement between the parties; and that the terms of this Agreement
are contractual and not merely a recital. Furthermore, this Release shall be binding upon the
undersigned, and its respective executors, administrators, personal representatives, successors
and assigns. This Release shall be subject to and governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
City agrees to withdraw all liens filed against Mrs. Handley or the above listed property related
to the assessments described above.
The Parties hereby instruct Security Escrow & Title, LLC dba Security Title to release and pay
Funds to City upon confirmation this Agreement is agreed to and signed by each party, and a
copy of the final signed Agreement has been received by each of the Parties.

This agreement shall be binding upon Mrs. Handley and City, their assigns and legal successors.
Each of the Parties agree that this Agreement has been read, explained to, and fully understood
by the undersigned.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this agreement either in person or by their
duly authorized officers or agents, effective the date of the last signature below.
