AMENDMENT NO. 8
CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas, hereinafter called "CITY," and RVi PLANNING + LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECTURE + GRAPHIC DESIGN, hereinafter called "CONSULTANT," agree to the following
amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for Oso Creek/Oso Bay Area Park Master
Plan (Proiect No. 3380) as authorized and administratively amended by:
Original Contract January 11, 2011 Motion No. M2011-013 $264,180.00
Amendment No. 1 November 20, 2011 Administrative Approval $22,800.00
Amendment No. 2 March 27, 2012 Motion No. M2012-066 $616,670.00
Amendment No. 3 August 21, 2012 Administrative Approval $5,200.00
Amendment No. 4 November 9, 2012 Administrative Approval $27,320.00
Amendment No. 5 January 29, 2013 Administrative Approval $5,600.00
Amendment No. 6 May 15, 2013 Administrative Approval $26,300.00
Amendment No. 7 August 15, 2013 Administrative Approval $47,349.00
In the Original Contract, Section 2. SCOPE OF WORK shall be modified by:
the deletion of the items which are no longer required as specified in Exhibit "A"; and
the addition of the Construction Phase Services, Structural Design Services and Electrical Design
Services as specified in Exhibit "A".
In the Original Contract, Section 5. FEE shall be modified by the attached Summary of Fees as
shown in the attached Exhibit A-1 for an additional fee not to exceed $18,580.00 (in figures) Eighteen
Thousand Five Hundred Eighty Dollars and Zero Cents (in words) for a total restated fee not to
exceed $1,033,999.00 (in figures) One Million Thirty Three Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Nine
Dollars and Zero Cents (in words).
All other terms and conditions of the January 11, 2011 contract between the City and Consultant and
of any amendments to that contract which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full
force and effect.

RECITALS www.rviplanning.com
A. Client and Consultant have entered into that certain Agreement
for Landscape Architectural Design Services for Oso Creek/ Oso
Bay Area Park Master Plan dated as of January 11, 2011 (the
"Original Agreement") and desire to amend the Original
Agreement.
B. Except as expressly modified by this Amendment, the Original
Agreement remains unchanged and in full force and effect.
II. AGREEMENT
A. The parties agree that the SCOPE, of the Original Agreement, is
hereby amended by adding the following:
Civil Engineering Construction Phase Services
Structural Engineering Design Services
Electrical Engineering Services
B. The parties agree that the BASIC SERVICES, of the Original
Agreement, is hereby amended by adding the following:
1. Civil Engineering Construction Phase Services
Consultant shall provide civil engineering construction
phase services including reviewing submittals for
conformance to construction documents, respond to RFIs,
attend 6 site meetings/field visits, assist in the preparation
of change orders, prepare punch list and final inspection
with City Staff.
2. Structural Design Services
Consultant shall provide structural engineering and
windstorm design and preparation of construction plans
and technical specifications for the playscape retaining
walls at Oso Park. AUSTIN/HOUSTON

3. Electrical Engineering Services
Consultant shall provide revisions to previously issued
documents to coordinate with electric power provider and
City.
C. The parties agree that the BASIC SERVICES, of Amendment No. 4
to the Original Agreement, is hereby amended by deleting the
following services:
1. Design of Waterline Extension from Oso Park to Holly
Road.
2. Additional Bid Phase Services for Waterline Extension.
3. Additional Construction Phase Services For Waterline
Extension.
D. The parties agree that the ADDITIONAL FEES, of Amendment No.
4 to the Original Agreement, is hereby amended by deleting the
following:
1. Additional Topographic Survey for water line extension
2. Preparation of Utility Easement for water line extension
E. The parties agree to add reimbursable expenses as included in the
Original Agreement not to exceed the amount in D.4.
F. The parties agree that the COMPENSATION of the Original
Agreement is hereby amended by adding the following:
1. The Client agrees to pay the Consultant the following lump
sum fees for each phase of the Project described in the
Basic Services will be billed monthly based on percent of
work complete for each phase of the Project plus
reimbursable costs. The fees assume no substantial
change in scope of the Project or services.

returning a signed copy to the Consultant. The effective date of the
Amendment shall be the last date entered below.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the City
Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to have an
effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public in general or a
substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or part-
time basis, but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or commercial, and
whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including but not limited to, entities
operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self-employed person, partnership, corporation,joint
stock company,joint venture, receivership or trust, and entities which for purposes of taxation are
treated as non-profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City Manager,
