CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AMENDMENT NO. 6
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and Covm, Rehmet & Gutierrez
Engineering, L.P. hereinafter called "ENGINEER," agree to the following amendment to the Contract for
Professional Services for Sharpsburg Lift Station Upgrade & Up River Road Force Main
Rehabilitation (Project No. 7389), as authorized and amended by:
Original Agreement July 24, 2008 Administrative Approval $48,785.00
Amendment No. 1 March 31, 2009 Motion No. 2009-075 $226,780.00
Amendment No. 2 October 27, 2009 Administrative Approval $19,375.00
Amendment No. 3 February 13, 2010 Administrative Approval $6,255.00
Amendment No. 4 June 3, 2010 Administrative Approval $30,811.00
Amendment No. 5 September 21, 2010 Administrative Approval $23,110.00
Exhibit "A", Section I. Scope of Services shall be amended as specified in the attached Amendment
No. 6 Exhibit "A".
Exhibit "A", Section III. Fees shall be amended as specified in the attached Amendment No. 6 Exhibit
"A" Summary of Fees, for a revised fee not to exceed $0.00 (Zero Dollars and Zero Cents), for a total
restated fee not to exceed $355,116.00 (Three Hundred Fiftv-Five Thousand One Hundred Sixteen
Dollars and Zero Cents). Monthly invoices shall be submitted in accordance with Exhibit "B".
All other terms and conditions of the July 24, 2008 contract between the City and Engineer, and any
amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and
effect.

Dear Ms. Fudge,
We have been asked to submit a proposal to investigate the changes required to update to
current standards the construction plans, contract documents, technical specifications and
opinion of cost for the Sharpsburg Lift Station and Up River Road Force Main Rehabilitation
project. The original contract Notice to Proceed was issued on July 24, 2008. The 100%
submittal was made to the City on January 28, 2011. At that stage the project was put on
hold for funding reasons.
Under this Amendment No.6,we propose to perform the following tasks:
• Administrative tasks associated with this amendment preparation.
• A complete review of the original design documents and January 28,2011 submittal
• Site visits to review existing conditions.
• Review new TCEQ regulations to ascertain if changes are required to update the
documents.
• Meet with City of Corpus Christi Engineering Department personnel regarding changes
to contract documents and standard specifications required to update the documents.
• Meet with City of Corpus Christi Wastewater Department personnel regarding changes
to contract documents and standard specifications required to update the documents.
• Meet with Xylem pump representative regarding changes to submersible pump
specifications required to update the documents.
• Correspond with biofilter vendors regarding changes to odor control facility
specifications and drawings which may be required to update the documents.
• Field work to ascertain changes to the lift station site, check benchmarks and control
points to determine if they still exist.
• Field work to perform a cursory inspection of the 20" and 24" force main route and
existing ARV's conditions and any new construction that may have occurred since
development of the original plan set.

• Prepare a draft letter detailing the findings and submit to the Engineering Project
Manager for review.
• Meet with the Engineering Project Manager to discuss findings shown in letter report.
• Address comments from meeting with Engineering Project Manager and submit a final
letter of findings.
The total amount of this Amendment is $0.00 as shown in the breakdown on Attachment
"A". The manhour and fee analysis for this Amendment is shown in Attachment"B".
As indicated on Attachment "A" the Construction Observation Services Contract price has
been reduced by$12,849.00 for a revised total of$35,551.00.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof.
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi,Texas either on a full or
part-time basis,but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial,and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self-employed
person,partnership,corporation,joint stock company,joint venture,receivership or trust,and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non-profit organizations.
