CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AMENDMENT NO. 1
The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "CITY", and Urban Engineering hereinafter called
"ENGINEER," agree to the following amendment to the Contract for Professional Services for Lift
Station Repairs — Citywide Rehabilitation Plan Update (Project No. E10142), as authorized and
amended by:
Original Agreement August 13, 2014 Administrative Approval $17,540.00
Exhibit "A", Scope of Services shall be amended to provide an odor control system to the existing
Section 4 Lift Station and as specified in the attached Amendment No. 1 Exhibit "A".
Exhibit "A", Fees shall be amended as specified in the attached Amendment No. 1 Exhibit "A"
Summary of Fees, for a revised fee not to exceed $28,700.00 (Twenty-Eight Thousand Seven
Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents), for a total restated fee not to exceed $46,240.00 (Forty-Six
Thousand Two Hundred Forty Dollars and Zero Cents). Monthly invoices shall be submitted in
accordance with Exhibit "B".
All other terms and conditions of the August 13, 2014 contract between the City and Engineer, and any
amendments to that contract, which are not specifically addressed herein shall remain in full force and
effect.

Subject: Section 4 Lift Station Odor Control (E10142)
Dear Natasha:
We are pleased to submit to you a proposal to provide engineering services for design
and construction administration to provide an odor control system to the existing Section 4 Lift
Station. This project involves providing an odor control blower, odor control duct work, in
ground biofilter and electrical improvements to power the blower.
The engineering services will include preparing a set of Construction Bid and Contract
Documents in the City format, review meetings with City staff, assist the City in bidding the
project and providing the construction administration.
Attached please find the following:
1. Engineer's Preliminary Estimate of Probable Construction Cost
2. Fee Table
3. Man Hour Fee Breakdown
We request that our present AE contract be amended by$28,700 to add the engineering
services to accomplish this work. If the above is acceptable, please prepare an AE Contract
Amendment No. 1 for signatures.

DEFINITIONS
a. "Board member." A member of any board, commission, or committee appointed by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
b. "Economic benefit". An action that is likely to affect an economic interest if it is likely to
have an effect on that interest that is distinguishable from its effect on members of the public
in general or a substantial segment thereof
c. "Employee." Any person employed by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas either on a full or
part-time basis,but not as an independent contractor.
d. "Firm." Any entity operated for economic gain, whether professional, industrial or
commercial, and whether established to produce or deal with a product or service, including
but not limited to, entities operated in the form of sole proprietorship, as self-employed
person, partnership, corporation,joint stock company,joint venture, receivership or trust, and
entities which for purposes of taxation are treated as non-profit organizations.
e. "Official." The Mayor, members of the City Council, City Manager, Deputy City
Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department and Division Heads, and Municipal Court
