HomeMy WebLinkAboutC2015-200 - 5/13/2015 - NA CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AMENDMENT NO. 2 CONTRACT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES The City of Corpus Christi, Texas hereinafter called "City", and Freese and Nichols, Inc. hereinafter called "Engineer", agree to the following amendments to the Contract for Engineering Services for Ocean Drive from Buford Street to Louisiana Avenue (Project No. E12093) BOND 2012, as authorized and administratively amended by: Original Contract January 29, 2013 Motion No. 2013-015 $855,969.00 Amendment No. 1 January 23, 2015 Administrative Approved $49,994.00 In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A", Section I. Scope of Services, Part A. Basic Services, Item No. 2. Design Phase shall be increased as set forth in the attached AMD No. 2 Exhibit "A". In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A", Section I. Scope of Services, Part B. Additional Services, Item No. 2. ROW Acquisition Survey shall be added as set forth in the attached AMD No. 2 Exhibit "A". In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A", Section I. Scope of Services, Part B. Additional Services, Item No. 10. Signalization Improvements shall be increased as set forth in the attached AMD No. 2 Exhibit "A". In the Original Contract, Exhibit "A", Section III. Fees, Summary of Fees shall be modified for a fee not to exceed $39,614.00 (Thirty Nine Thousand Six Hundred Fourteen Dollars and Zero Cents), for a total restated fee not to exceed $945,577.00 (Nine Hundred Forty Five Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Seven Dollars and Zero Cents). Monthly invoices will be submitted in accordance with Exhibit "B". (FNI)would respectfully request your consideration of our amendment#2 for Ocean Drive—Louisiana Ave.to Buford St. (City Project No. E12093). The amendment includes basic services requested by the City to provide additional storm drainage design services for the project. Additional services will also be provided which include a ROW Acquisition Survey and additional signalization drawings and coordination for the replacement of four(4) pedestrian activated flashing signals. FNI respectfully requests a contract amendment in the amount of$39,614 to address the additional time and effort required to support these project tasks. NO. 2 EXHIBIT"A" Page 1 of 3 EXHIBIT A SCOPE OF SERVICES CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI OCEAN DRIVE—BUFORD STREET TO LOUISIANA AVENUE CITY PROJECT NO. E12093 AMENDMENT NO. 2 1. SCOPE OF SERVICES A. Basic Services. Basic Services will include the following in addition to those items shown below: Design Phase 1. Provide storm drainage design services for the proposed 6' x 6' RCB to be installed beneath the intersection of Ocean Drive and Morgan Avenue. Design scope will include plan and profile for the proposed 6'x 6' RCB beneath Ocean Drive and structural design and detailing for the upstream and downstream junction boxes to connect to the existing storm drainage system. The upstream junction box on Morgan Avenue will be sized to accommodate the future storm water improvements to be designed and installed as part of the Morgan Avenue-Ocean Drive to Staples Street(Bond 2014) project by others. The downstream junction box will be connected to the existing two 36" RCP's on the Glasscock property. Conduct two (2) additional meeting with the City and property owner. Additional design of the Morgan storm water outfall to Corpus Christi Bay is not included in this scope. 2. Provide additional storm drainage design services within Cole Park to replace approximately 130' of existing 15"storm water pipe adjacent to the Cole Park Amphitheater. The existing 15"storm water pipe was discovered to be in poor condition by recent video inspection. Design scope will include plan and profile of a new 24" RCP connecting to an existing manhole within the Park. Conduct one (1) additional meeting with the City. Additional design of the Cole Park storm water outfall to Corpus Christi Bay is not included in this scope. B. Additional Services Additional Services will include the following in addition to those items shown below: ROW Acquisition Survey 1. Perform Right-of-Way Acquisition survey for two(2)drainage easements and one(1) temporary construction easement located on the C.G. Glasscock Bay Front Addition as shown on map recorded in Volume 35, Page 49 of the Map and Plat Records of Nueces County, Texas. Conduct two (2) additional meetings with the property owner and project team. Signalization Improvements 2. Prepare additional signalization drawings and coordination for the replacement of four(4) pedestrian activated flashing signals at the intersection of Del Mar Blvd. and Ocean Drive. Develop design elements using City of Corpus Christi design criteria and standards. AMD.
